Like today for example, I (again) had several dozen spams in my inbox, quite a few saying I have "Facebook contacts pending", all containing the link "Click here to see your new friend requests"
Email looks legit enough, as if it's from Facebook, but of course being the the savvy web veteran that I am I always mouse over the links and look at the actual destination before even thinking about considering to maybe click them or not, and sure enough... .ru sites, every one of them.
My first thought? Sorry to my Russian friends and contactrs who are legit, but my first thought is pretty much this:
"< roll eyes > < laugh > Gad damn Russian scamming fuckers! How can they think this is going to fool anyone except for morons. Do people really buy anything from their so-called pharmacy after being Facebook-duped into clicking their shitty worthless link?"
Then I start to imagine the sheer number of air-headed sheep out there who click on anything put in front of them and I have my answer... which is yes, a large number of people absolutely do click and provide their CC #'s. I feel little to no pity for such people, but it's still quite pathetic so I feel sad.
Then I lol, and delete.
