    Gas Station That Gave Discounts to Elderly Ordered to Raise Prices

    Center City BP owner Raj Bhandari has been offering senior citizens a 2 cent per gallon price break and discount cards that let sports boosters pay 3 cents less per gallon.

    But the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says those deals violate Wisconsin's Unfair Sales Act, which requires stations to sell gas for about 9.2 percent more than the wholesale price.

              I could see it being a violation of fair trade if it were a discount to EVERYONE, but this guy was just trying to help out the old people.

                  Old people get discounts all the time, senior discounts at restaurants and sometimes grocery stores to name two. What?s the difference?

                      Tons of places offer seniors discounts. Heck, my grandma throws a fit if she can't use her age to get some money taken off at the till.

                      So this station would have to raise its regular price in order for its discounts to still be more than 9.2% above wholesale? That licks.
