Very logical, very possible,very probabale, that they only pulled that gem from another companies play book.
If one company is successful and efficient with Public relations, and propaganda, then one does not have to reinvent the wheel.
You just copy and paste what works for others, I know you webmasters understand copying and pasting the ideas of others that are successful
