1. The fruitcakes I can stand - mildly entertaining even.
2. The intellectual people I can argue with - what I love about GFY cos it's full of them.
3. The pig ignorant trolls I can manage (noone is on my ignore list)
It's those that are mix of 2 and 3 that are dangerous - are not stupid, but a troll at the same time. OK, I've learned to semi-engage.
The lurkers I despise - they are the most dangerous.
I'm sure the "debate" (is that even possible on GFY?) on IP address badgering will continue in infinite concentric circles just as I'm sure the majority will still offer their content up for pirating (and then complain it is pirated).
Things have changed a lot for me recently and GFY can no longer take a place in my heart for goofing around. I'll still carry on coding and doing stuff for people - don't worry on that.
Just stuff has gotten too personal on GFY so I would like this to die down. I'm still doing my own thing to help people detect their copyrighted works (I love that challenge, so that will not end) and something is close like 1-2 months from a solid app you can all use.
It's just this goofing around has gotten out of hand and the personal attacking emails I can do without. It's coming up to Christmas, which is where I wind down anyway to spend a few weeks in the mountains with my family, so I'm going to just bow out of GFY now and come back when I have something more useful on the plate (which will probably come under a new nick).
There are far too many armchair warriors out there and given public info and shit, I never protected myself enough.
I wish you all well in your continued battles and throw a jab in now and then from me. I will be back, just not in the next few months - things on the table are far more important.
