If I was an American maybe I might of done it, but since I have decent hands I have no problem fixing something as simple as a screen on a $350 phone (current price)Comment

I think Ebay is one of my favorite things onlineComment

If you're in the us, for the future, they have these little green delivery confirmation labels you can stick on packages you mail through the USPS domestically. They cost a little less than a buck and they are the best. Each ticket has a barcode and a #, it gets scanned when you ship it and scanned when it gets delivered at it's final destination. You can punch in the # on the stub you retain to see the date and time it got where it needed to go.
I use them every time. Since I've started using them no one has played around and tried to say they never received a package, and that's more than worth the added expense.
Sorry you got burned.Comment

This thread is the exact reason why people don't fix stuff around here, usually it's way more headaches than it's worth....

Not really, the exact reason is laziness
I bought a PS3 around a year ago, 7 months later the blu-ray laser died, PS3 was working fine but every game was freezing at first, after that it just didn't read any cds, I bought a blu-ray eye from ebay for $60 and my ps3 is working perfectly ever since, or should have I bought a new ps3? (cost is around $550 around here)Comment

There is at least 1 year warranty on most products, including PS3... so in that case you would get it repaired for free.. if it breaks after 1 year, you are kinda shit out of luck, but by then the product is probably worth fuck all anyway, so might as well buy a newer version...Not really, the exact reason is laziness

but I guess you are probably not in the US, so you may not have these options... so for you it probably is indeed worthwhile to fix stuff yourself, but generally no one in the US bothers to fix stuff and it's not because of laziness... it's just not worth the drama...Custom Software Development, email: woj#at#wojfun#.#com to discuss details or skype: wojl2000 or gchat: wojfun or telegram: wojl2000

if you can't prove you sent it back; the seller can say he never received it, that's common knowledge for returning shit on Ebay.
Best thing you can do now is trying to get in touch directly with seller and tell him you will leave neg feed backs if he doesn't give you a refund...Comment

Well, according to Ebay and Paypal rules you are required to provide shipping ID to track any packaes sent or returned or you do not qualify for buyer protection. You could probably even send packages containing something completely different, as long as you providse that shipping ID.
Just do as you're told and stay out of trouble. Mess up, and you pay the price, simple.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I only use ebay for things that you cannot purchase anymore in stores, never buy electronics on there...your buying someones junk. Not worth the risk for a couple dollars.
Go on Amazon, best buy, staples, etc. websites today for some great black friday deals.Comment

Hard lesson learned. Without a tracking number, you are truly fucked. USPS Priority Mail is often the least expensive way to do this, followed by UPS or USPS First Class with cost-extra tracking number.
