Do they play cricket in the USA?

I took a chap from the US to the MCG once to see Australia vs Pakistan. He fell asleep

Infact i wouldn't even call it a sport.

They play cricket in Toronto. They got flat wooden paddles.

I've seen Jamaican/Caribbean guys playing cricket in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. And I once played in a pickup up side against a ladies team in Marin County. My Austrian stepmother described cricket as the English form of meditation.

The real question should be, why do they play cricket anywhere?

Because its better than the "sports" you guys enjoy that are nothing more than massive marketing exercises?

Well can you name any major cricket teams from the USA or have you watched any USA games on TV ..that should answer your question...

Cricket is part of being British and is used as a metaphor in turn of the century poetry concerning the British Empire building and the passing of traditional values.
