Anybody know offhanf any GPS units that do not run off Windows /Windows CE OS;s?

I use tomtom - I'm not sure what OS it is using, but if it is windows it is pretty well hidden.

all you need is an android mobile with gps and google maps - it now works as fully functional navigation system for free

Garmin devices run linux. The Nuvi 800 and 5000 models for sure, and probably others.

I agree 100%. This is the best GPS I have ever had.
