              A Thanksgiving tradition!

And I went up there, I said, "Shrink, I want to kill. I mean, I wanna, I
wanna kill. Kill. I wanna, I wanna see, I wanna see blood and gore and
guts and veins in my teeth. Eat dead burnt bodies. I mean kill, Kill,
              KILL, KILL!"

And I started jumpin' up and down yelling, "KILL, KILL!" and
he started jumpin' up and down with me and we was both jumping up and down
yelling, "KILL, KILL." And the Sargent came over, pinned a medal on me,
sent me down the hall and said, "You're our boy!"
              gone. long gone.

My mom used to play that on an 8 track tape all the time, now its burned into my brain, all of these years later. Heard it on the radio last year and loved every second.

You can get the movie for instant download on Netflix. The song is better, but the movie is mildly entertaining. At least as much as a Charlie Brown's Christmas

I think I saw him live around 1970 with Pete Seeger.

I wore my copy of the album out not long after

Arlo Guthrie at Woodstock (1969, the first one) - still one of my favorite folk songs to play on guitar:

It dawned on me that some people who don't know Arlo Guthrie may have never heard of his father either, the legendary folk songwriter and performer, Woody Guthrie, although I am guessing many of them have heard or sung his most famous song:

If you know folk, you know the circle shall remain unbroken, and therefore some of Arlo's kids have also become folk musician's, including his daughter Cathy who is in a band with Willie Nelson's daughter Amy, called Folk Uke - here is their song, "Shit Makes the Flowers Grow":

                                Merry Thanksgiving GFY!!!
