You want to be careful about going with cheap hosting companies
because of overselling. They put as many clients as they can on
a server hoping each doesn't use the full bandwidth potential of their plans.

Also in a shared environment, you don't want to take the chance of someone
installing a script, brings down the box along with your FHG's. I am not a sponsor so I cannot say for sure what your bandwidth requirements will be,
but I would suggest getting a dedicated plan that will allow for growth
as your business grows. And look for a capped plan so you are not hit
with large overage fees in case your business grows faster than you think.

You have to be able to support the traffic affiliates will be sending.
If you chose a cheap account it will be closed at the first medium affiliate

Check out the hosting in my sig. I use them and they have about the same specs you mentioned in your first post. But I've never heard of servage dot net. I actually did a research and the host I'm using is in the top 10.

Shared is too unreliable for something that important.

Do not get any hosting option that limits your bandwidth. Just pay extra and get unlimited bandwidth. You will save yourself countless headaches and worries and will be able to grow boundlessly.

Don't be cheap on this. You have to spend money to make money, and you get what you pay for.

What exactly does unlimited BW mean? Do you mean capped but unmetered? I thought, in theory there's no such thing "unlimited".

Like if you bought an unburstable 50Mbps connex that was totally pegged at 50Mbps for the entire month then that would result in a certain TB of transfer. Thus, you can use as much transfer as you want, you're just limited to 50Mbps of BW at any given time.

First of all let me say that you have gotten some very good advice above and I agree with the suggestion that dedicated is your best choice. You have spent far too much time and effort into building your site and developing traffic to place it on a shared account where to many variables our out of your control.

In regards to your quote there are no free rides or unlimited BW. Every host you choose has to pay for their BW, so keep that in mind when weighing thier offers.

Stick with a burstable connection and get use to monitoriing your bandwidth usage. If you are on a capped/unmetered plan and your usage starts to get close to the cap your sites may start to load slow and it can really mess with your customers experience (and we all know just how understanding they are about their porn fixes).

Everyones billing policies are different but with Caro.Net if you contact us prior to the end of the billing cycle and increase your BW commitment, we then apply the new cap to your account and make it retroactive to the beginning of the billing cycle, this can be a great relief from overages.

Finally while I agree that you should choose a dedicated solution and I would certainly like to earn your business, let me suggest that you consider maintaining the two servers in the same data center. Assuming that you are satisfied with your current host and that you are not doing this for redundancy then by adding a second server to your current hosting you should be able to achieve the following:
If the two servers have dual NICs (if they don't then add them) create a network between the two servers
a. This should elliminate billable BW traffic between the two servers
b. This keeps the communications speed high between the two servers
c. Ask your host to aggregate the BW between the two servers (in other words if they both came with 1500 GB's/mo then your account would have a total BW allocation of 3000 GB/mo instead of 1500 GB/server

If you pick up a bunch of good webmasters your going to blow through some bandwidth

I would not go with a shared box as your gonna want to control what its doing and your going to want to be able to max that server out eventually If you are sharing with someone else then thats not going to be able to happen
