Dean decided that he would bite the hand that feeds him. We let him get away with his spammy posts for a long time. In many cases when the people he shot for were not advertisers or financial supporters of the board simply because we felt the community enjoyed his images. Many think that they are bigger than GFY. Then they are banned and they come to us begging to come back and that they apologize etc. Thinking before you speak is very important.No OneComment

Eric, why are you playing the Rules card when you know fully well that it's very subjective anyway. For example, TD has admitted on several occasions that he's aware of a lot of the fake nicks. Why aren't those members banned who have fake nicks then?

To be fair ... I doubt GFY did that much to help feed Dean
GFY is slow ... and it does get a lot of people saying that. I guess the fact that he spoke out against Playboy didn't bode well. In a way... I don't complain that it's slow because it's free to use ... I spose that makes it ok in my book.

I agree he is very good at what he does and yes he spams less often than a lot of other people. I don't dislike him, I'm just saying he is a whore like 80% of the people here and no one misses a whore.

make up the rules and throw the hammer however they see fit without having
to comply to democratic decisions voted by their users.
People seem to always forget that just because they can join a community
they don't automatically have a say in the community rules of the community
they've joined.

I understand and TBH, I can see GFY's viewpoint on this pretty clearly....BUT.....IMHO, Dean should not have been banned for what he posted. He's not a GFY hater, he's somebody who contributes to GFY in a positive way and he likes GFY enough to try to rattle some cages to get things fixed.
ANYBODY who claims that GFY is never slow for them is either an occasional poster or a fucking liar. GFY locks up consistently day in and day out. It should be fixed and Dean, as a well liked poster and fan of GFY, has been lobbying on these issues for awhile. Has anybody taken the time to reply to him about the issue is the past? If not, I can understand his viewpoint too.
This decision is not going to hurt Dean. It will probably piss him off but it won't hurt him....However....One less decent poster on a board filled with...well...Not so decent ones.....I just don't see how this ban does anything for the good of GFY.

Dean may have been a little harsh to throw around the " playboy says fuck you" BUT I do not think it was meant in as negative of a way as its being taken...
