I have never read quran but as far as I know quran says don't eat pork because it has high risk of disease (pigs live in a dirty environment, eat its own shit etc.) But now, pigs live in nice farms with high desease controls, so i don't think it is againist to the religion to eat pork anymore. I still don't eat though.
Again as far as I know, Quran says do not pray when you are under the influence of alcohol (muslim's supposed to pray 5 times a day). So, if you are not praying 5 times a day, than you don't really need to stay away from alcohol.
My father read all of the holy books, and told me not to read any of them because they are full of bullshit. He says torah (spelling?) is the worse one in terms of bullshitness
