there was just a story on the news about this. Apparently, people are paying bums to fight each other... (what bum is gonna pass up a shot at some cold hard cash?) and I mean beat the holy snot out of each other.... and then broadcasting it on the Net in a membership setup.

Sounds whacked to me, but hey... someone is makin' money on it.

See, I've been taping T&A on Bourbon Street every week for almost 10 years now (http://www.not-just-mardi-gras.com/ and http://www.mardi-gras-flashers.com/ are two of my sites) and everytime a fight would break out, my partner and I would keep rolling camera. Whenever I edited my releases, I put aside any tape that had such action and labelled it "Brawls". So, I've got like 3 to 5 hours of unpublished, never-seen-before action sitting in a box. I mean, bloodied heads, ambulance calls, mini-riots with mounted policemen breaking it up, a dozen or so guys rolling around the street together, doorman sucker punches and a few (two or three at most) cat fights as well.

Only thing is, I don't have the time or set up to promote the material properly, though when I read about something like that, I figure there just might be a market for it...

Speaking as someone who produces website content and has a minimal grasp of the legalities, the Bum Fight site, like the Bang Bus site would be legal suicide without releases and payment of those depicted.

Actually Unseen, I know of one company in particular that does some things that are similar to this, in that they use homeless people for their real videos and pay per view shows.

The people are truly homeless, regardless of whether or not they are getting paid.

Very different from Bangbus.
