In 1978-79, we were selling Swedish Erotica 30 minute loops on U-matic cartridges for $149 and couldn't keep them in stock. They came in a white box and we had to cut up the brochure and glue the movie synopsis on the box.
In 1981 opened first video rental specialty store in Austin and sold $2,000 in memberships the first day. I had all 75 or so VHS titles available in a glass counter for sale for $100 each.
