I got a Verotel sale from a site I don't promote... how come?

I know Verotel works with cookies, so is it possible to get credited if the surfer who visited one of the sites I promote as affiliate decided instead to join another site of my list that I haven't promoted ever?
    does it work that way?

Verotel's affiliate links all use the same affiliate ID (rather than merged accounts like ccbill), so it's possible that a set cookie will catch a signup on any of their client's sites.

I have an affiliate ID for ricosworld.com . So you're telling me if I just substitute his other site, ricosphats.com within the link code, I could get credit for the sales to that site?

I'm just guessing based on the use of a master ID rather than separate ones like ccbill do. The reseller stats area does show the sites you've specifically signed up for, so it could just be an oversight in their system (or perhaps a deliberate catch) that credits any surfer signups with your own affiliate ID, regardless of the site. Again, that's a guess based on the OP's question. Best to ask Verotel for a definitive answer.

Actually re-reading the first msg it says "...decided instead to join another site of my list that I haven't promoted ever..."

So that means you had signed up to promote the second site, just hadn't actually sent any traffic? If so then Verotel probably don't know/care which clickthrough set the cookie, so long as your account is associated with the site as a reseller then you get the signup.

                        More guessing of course.

                        Ask Verotel.
