I've had a couple sites that are #1 in results, and have been there for years. Every once in a while, it drops for a few days and then comes back. Get better domains with tenure. New domains usually drop quickly.

it happens all the time with new sites, currently I'm No3 on a keyphrase that makes me ~15 signups/month, now if I could only be No3 for "shemale" or "webcams"....Comment

oh come on ... was that a keyword of new site and the site started a competition? that happenned to me, first day around 100 clicks from google, now still few but much worst ... there are good seo gurus around for sure! but time is running ...
