Depends on what are you looking for, if you are looking for nice beaches and luxury hotels go to Punta Cana if you're looking cheap Dominican ladies Sosua beats Boca Chica but it's pretty cheap getting there by bus and also hotels are cheap so you may want to try your luck on both places.

I'll be in Dominican Republic on the 3rd. 4th time this year. It really depends what you are looking for tbh.
Boca chica is more urban it's the capital and although it's pretty nice the crime rate around there is pretty high.
Puerto plata on the north shore is way much more laid back and has a real small town touristy feel to it. Out of all the the beaches on the north shore I find sosua to be the best. Plus the strip there is quiet an experience lol (if your going by yourself or with the boys)
Punta cana is where the country has been spending a lot of resources to really attract the tourism to the country, the down side to that is it's going to be a little more expensive.
Me I like sousa, but I mainly stay in Santiago. It's the second largest city in the country, I also have relatives there, my family comes from there and I have a house there as well.Comment

I've been living in the DR for 11 years.
If going for hookers do yourself a favor and stay as far away from the tourist areas as possible. It's all worn out hard boiled crack whores and Haitian rejects in the tourist towns, especially Sosua.
Haven't been to Boca Chica but I hear its the same as Sosua only a little bigger.
Santiago is a great place, that's where I live, the 3 main places here are in descending order of pricing:
Passion
CasaBlanca
Illusion
I doubt any Sosua bitches could get a job cleaning the bathroom in any of these places.
Can't guide you personally as I am family man and my comings and goings are carefully watched, but I have fond memories of my single days. But give those 3 names to any taxi driver and he will know right where they are.- As soon as I think up a good sig it's going here.Comment

Ive never been to Boca chica, so couldnt tell you which one is best. If I remember correct, it was PuertoPlata that Natalie & I went to 12years ago. It was lovely! Far from girls, hookers & even dope. It was pure bliss, with lots of relaxing & plenty of bacardi.

I went to Puerta Plata in 2008 and loved it. Went with my girlfriend and 2 more friends with their girlfriends, we had a blast! Defo do all inclusive tho if you plan on having the best time possible.Comment

I love the DR, Punta Cana is lovely with some great beaches, but I prefer the north coast, Cabarate is brilliant, especially for wind surfing (and one day will try kite surfing). Some good nightlife in Cabarete, was there a few weeks ago and a good new bar for nights is opened, Nikki Beach, much better than the sweatbox Bambu bar
