It's even worse with video when you are shooting outdoors. Catch the sun wrong and it's really apparent, although it might be hard to spot on the small camera viewer - it kills you when you don't notice it until post-production.

I'm usually very careful about cleaning each lens before shooting - I need to remember to do the same with the sensors...thanks for the reminder.

Ouch. Didn't notice it until you said where to look, but now the photo is ruined. The bottom spot just above her finger can easily be corrected in PS though. I'm sure the one in her hair could be too.

open lens, use less light as a workaround.

high DOF with small lens opening will show dirt on lens at some lighting angles.

haha yeah man, some people mentioned that to me, so I don't put them into the pics anymore. All the old pics are still going to remain with the black border though because it's just too much work to go back and change them w/o adversely affecting the image dimensions.

That's usually an option, but on that day I forgot my ND filter so I had to crank the ISO all the way down to 100 and work within the 1/250 synch constraint. So the only wiggle room I had to play with was the F number

And it just ended up being around F12-F14 or so. Damn those bright sunny 73 degree cloudless days!
