What a total fucking waste. How will this possibly attract businesses to the area? The whole fucking city is abandoned, it's not like there's no where to park if you drive in from the burbs.

Not to mention the rails would be stolen and sold for scrap long before they put the first train on them.

I like her rationale on how the statement "there is no money" doesn't really exist. LOL.

Comparing a new school to a $500 million rail system, LOL. I think one has a little more priority over the other.

Worth about $4000 per 39 foot strand if they have less than a couple mils of head wear and you can find a buyer. Fuck selling for scrap, find yourself a steel yard that stocks rail and doesn't ask too many questions.

that light rail is kind of retarded. it goes in a straight line. it only goes from one place in a suburb to downtown. thats a small % of people who want to go downtown. they already have a shuttle from that exact area that not a whole lot of people use. www.thenightmove.com. if this system went to every part of the suburbs to downtown it might be useful. no one is going to want to drive 20-30 minutes to get on public transportation to go downtown detroit. theres plenty of parking downtown so it would be easier to just drive downtown.
