    ICQ 6 Thoughts so far?

    My thoughts on ICQ 6 are that it's solid as a rock for me!

    Hasn't crashed once... loads fast... responds faster ... it's overall a much better app.

    I wont use Trillian or Miranda ... both those apps fail to grab every message that is sent ... I've tried them both multiple times and often there's been a drop in the comms when I've been using it.

    ICQ 6 is pretty good I'm happy with it now. Whereas, I HATED v5

      been using that version for a few months now (invitation stuff), and it really made me prefer icq over anything else again...

          It's a piece of shit that doesn't save history for me for example. I used the beta as well as the public release, and I got back to 2003b.
          ..and I'm off.

                              That's the same thing I thought when I uploaded the new version. I thought I had lost all my history files, and I was pissed , but to it's credit I had a pop up message come up 3 days after I installed it saying "I had some messages click here", and my all the history from all my contacts loaded just fine.

                              Besides the first problems I had with my history logs, I have to say it's been working just fine for me.

                                      I'd like it better than the old one, uses MS Access DB files to save the history...
                                      All the ad configs are in xml (you can remove banners)
                                      I'll post a script that takes your old history and converts to the new one

                                                          I really like version 6. The look and feel is similar to skype messaging now. it looks like a modern instant messenger, and it was about time!

                                                                      It had better be good. I keep hearing that it does well, but I had icq in the past and had nothing but problems with it. I'll probably download it tonight anyway, since most webmasters use it to communicate with their affiliates and business partners.

                                                                                  ha.... mine does the same thing. sometimes it will save the history for some users... but most often, it doesn't.
