            I guess a little depends upon what you were shooting, Aaron. Nudity is protected under the law; lewdness is not.

If you decide to do a shoot in a public place that just happends to be where my children are, you'll be lucky if all I do is call the cops. Of course, I'm sure that the standards of my community are quite a bit higher than yours.

                                                                    Higher or lower, this is why we have legislators. You are talking about making the law up as you go along. If the people of Oregon wanted to prevent public nudity, they have always had the option of modifying the state Constitution.

                                                                    And remember, we are talking about "nudity" not "porn." I don't want people fucking in public parks and the law doesn't cover that, because while it permits nudity, it does not permit lewdness, and it also give local jurisdictions the option of banning nudity.

                                                                        I think the cops were just doing their job. Just because there is no specific law on the books in your area, it just doesn't seem right to be doing a porn photo shoot in a public park.

                                                                        Why not just put up a high privacy fence, do a little gardening to create some different looking settings, maybe pick up some decent outdoor furniture, and shoot in your yard, or the yard of a friend/aqquaintence? Chances are the model, while still excited to be photographed naked outdoors, will be a little more comfortable, and perhaps get a little wilder.

                                                                        I don't know, maybe I'm old fashioned, but I'd think it was a little fucked up if I was driving by a park where I lived, and saw a photo shoot going on.

I am all for freedom of everything, but once you put your "everything " in a public place-- you have to have some rules. As for the cop part of your post, ---from YOUR account of what happened-- they sounded pretty cool!!! I would personally hate to be a cop,( you have to bust people for having fun ) ---- but you love them when they bust someone stealing your shit.                                                                                 Being legal or not, I would think that common sense dicatate that you would not do certain things in public places (such as shooting pics of naked women/men).

                                                                                Far to many police officers are badge heavy and carry out their duties in an unprofessional manner. To many times I have heard the statement "well they are only human", or they "get burned out dealing with the low lives they deal with daily".

                                                                                This of course is true, but with the power that they have; they should not be only human, but extraordinary humans, and trained to the nth degree, much as our military special ops people are, and our military aviators are, both of which are true professionals. All that is required to become a police officer in almost all cities in the US, is a High School Diploma, a clean record, and six weeks to six months of training, depending on the particular requirements for the city. This means that virtually anyone can become a police officer and that in and of itself should be cause for concern.

                                                                                When they hit the burn out zone, it is time to take them off of the streets.

                                                                                    Gotta say that if Aaron was shooting out of the way, and was within the letter of the law then the cops have no business bothering him. I have met some tolerable law enforcement agencies, and I have met a whole bunch that act like someone ripped their dicks off then shoved it up their asses and are taking it out on all of us.

                                                                                    I think the idea of hiring an off duty officer is a great idea. So is the idea of sending the cops a bill to recoup lost camera time from their HARRASMENT (did I hear 4 times this year?) If you think that they don't get mean and look for reasons to bust particular people you are dead wrong, and when I say the word dead in a conversation about cops you better take notice, 'cause they can shoot you and get away with just doing paperwork...

                                                                                        Unless I am incorrect, shooting adult content on a "private school ground" would definitely go against some law regarding "private school property" and their rights to okay or deny a shoot would fall victorious over any "public nudity" debate.

                                                                                        Ive seen men brag about teaching highschool volleyball here, as well as now brag about doing "adult content" photo shoots in public playground regardless of law or not, a "playground" and "school" are what they are, and should not be tainted by the rebelious attitude of young pornographers. Bragging about things like this is not only unprofessional, it shows where your true priorities lie, youre in this for the girls.

                                                                                        Just like all the failed musicians I have recorded, they got into music for the money and girls, and that is why they fail as musicians, not saying anyone will fail at porn because of mixed priorities or influences, but I know why I am in this, and with that directive applied, and constantly in mind, goals remain clear.

                                                                                        Unfortunately it is people who push the law envelope that place bad names on those of us who try to keep a disclaimer on our porn instead of shoving it down the publics throat.

                                                                                        The people driving by your porn shoot on a public playground are the very people who called the cops, its no wonder they did, you obviously offended someone, whether it was right or not. Legal or not, that doesnt matter when youre conducting yourself professionally you wouldnt need to be harrassed by cops. Everyday I drive past 3 or 4 music video shoots or movies being made on these Hollywood streets, and everything is roped off and the photographers have permits.

But we did it within law, and had the proper paperwork for public shoots.                                                                                             The police were called on you 4 times, I suggest you take the *hint* that people are not happy seeing your photo shoot.

                                                                                            You have 2 choices:
                                                                                            1. Continue to take pics in parks & schools and expect the police bothering you.

                                                                                            2. Take pics in your backyard or drive up to an isolated area which isn't as likely to have people standing around.

                                                                                                First the officer COULD have arrested you all, on suspicion of whatever he wants and haul you in... They DO have that right... they didn't. Be happy. It's very common for an officer of the law to let his superiors sort things like that out.

                                                                                                Second, it's up to the officer or his sargeant if called to decide how he or they want to interpret the laws as THEY see them... Again he could have taken you as well as the girls. And then you'd have to bond out and wait for a court date *IF* the DA pressed it. If they WERE going by the book you'd be getting out about now...

                                                                                                Third if you want to do that sort of shoot, get copies of all these laws as well as the park regs to hand them. But don't be surprised if someone interprets 'lewd' the way THEY want to, and not your way. BTW not ALL parks have the same regs, city, state, Fed etc.

                                                                                                Better idea? Track down the local realtor that handles the large estates and go cultivate a relationship with the owner of the company... Some of them DO take some under the table cash and allow you to use the yards to shoot. Then you are safe unless someone can view you from their own windows.

                                                                                                It seems since you have had them confront you so many times that there must be SOMEthing that they view as breaking a law... if anything, the public indecency as someone else mentioned. That sort of thing takes in alot of area. Be safe and rent a spot. 500 to rent is less than the bonds would be.

There are laws on the books and they PERMIT this activity. What "porn" shoot are you referring to? A nude shoot is not necessarily a porn shoot. Some of you idiots really crack me up. Nobody driving by or walking on a path could have possibly seen us. This was during school time and the park was fairly empty as well. I not only did nothing illegal but I also took many precautions to ensure that I did not offend anybody.

                                                                                                                            When I wrote my last reply you never said you tried to go deep into the park or not. I assumed you were in the open for people to see. If you were so well hidden, who called the cops?

People get stopped for walking down the street. This does not mean they were doing anything wrong. I will continue to shoot outdoors in remote locations as long as the law allows it. If I see kids or anybody else in the area then I will not shoot there. I do not shoot on playgrounds or school grounds. I did that shit many years ago and although I never got in trouble for it, I have matured to the point where it disturbs me. I have no problem shooting somewhere else and I even asked the cop if he had any suggestions on locations. He refused to give me any.

I wonder how many of you have purchased or stolen public nudity content where the area was filled with people. Marty Gras comes to mind...are you all aware that local laws prohibit nudity in New Orleans? Yet people order the videos and put up site with the content and never think twice about how and where it was produced.

So don't get upset when the police are enforcing something that involves to you.

                                                                                                                                    I think the odds of you being struck by a flying cow on your way to the store for milk are probly higher than most people ever meeting up with an inherently assholed-attitude cop.

                                                                                                                                        A lady let her dog off it's leash and the dog wandered into the area. The lady followed the dog. As I mentioned before...I think they need to ticket the lady for not haveing her pet on a leash since THAT is against a park regualtion.

                                                                                                                                            I'm not familiar with the laws concerning the subject in your area Aaron, so I can't comment on whether what you were doing was in the right or in the wrong. What I can tell you is that if this had ended up going to court over it, Judges tend to take the police version over your version 99.9% of the time. You would have lost the battle. Better to just say "yes officer", move on, and be done with it without incident.

                                                                                                                                                You are right about that. Unfortunately by the time I calmed down enough to see it that way, it was too late to change the title of the thread.

                                                                                                                                                The main reason I am not happy with them is because of the comment that one of the officers made. They were polite other than that and they simply asked that I leave.

                                                                                                                                                The cops around here are pretty cool most of the time.

                                                                                                                                                                Case in point: I had bought a new car (new to me), a Pontiac Firebird, when I was in Washington State. Not to long after buying it, one night as I was traveling, I decided to see what it had. I was on a straight stretch of highway (which I was familiar with) and there was zero traffic, so I put the petal to the metal. I was well over one hundred miles per hour, when I saw, in my rear view mirror, headlights and a redlight come on from the opposite side of the highway. I immediately began to slow and pull over to the side of the road. The officer sited me for reckless driving.

                                                                                                                                                                When I went to court the judge read me the officers report. Among other things it stated: The officer had to chase me for approximately five-six miles before I would pull over. He also stated in his report there was mild to heavy traffic on the highway.

                                                                                                                                                                I told the judge that I had come to court to plead guilty, but the officers report was not true, and asked if I could explain what actually happened. I told the story to him as I stated the events above. The officer was in the court room and the judge called him forward and told him that he believed my story and not his story and reduced the charge to simple speeding.

                                                                                                                                                                The officer was enraged and approached me outside the court room and expressed his anger to me in no uncertain terms.

                                                                                                                                                                I told the officer that if he would simply have told the truth I would have entered a plea of guilty and would not have said anything else.

                                                                                                                                                                            Cops dont arrest every person in New Orleans drinking in public, but it IS illegal.. but at the same time, I have been being carried to my car from a bar by a friend on his piggy back kinda, and we were all 3 arrested for fighting, so I know what yo9u mean to say "Fuck Cops" but Ive been robbed before too and they were quite helpful; hahah off to shoot pics myself and get an ounce later.
