Just ordered seasons 1 and 2 of the Wire!!

I'm so freaking excited! The Wire is my favorite all time show and I think the first 2 season are simply amazing. The second one in particular is just a cinematic masterpiece.

Anyone else a big fan of the show? Whats your favorite season?

I have not watched the Wire but I love buying the whole series of a show and watching it that way. Entourage, Sapranos and now into Lost. It is great to watch the whole season in about a week.

Yeah that does sound cool but you gotta be sure the show is good first. I have never bought a show on DVD -- movies yes, but never a show. I want to watch that whole shit again at least a few times

I've seen 1-3, waiting for 4 to be released on DVD. Of the 3, the first season is probably my favorite, though the second is pretty good too. Hell they're all great. McNulty is my favorite character, Bubbles always has me cracking up. And how can you not like Omar?

Oh, another really simple thing I like about the show is how each season has the opening song sang from a different genre of music, pretty cool idea.

I loe Omar. It's strange what they did with that character. They created a black homosexual who is not only the hardest thug in the entire show but also the most feared. They also gave him that Robbin-hood feature which I think is really cool.

If you havent seen this show you should. I heard the writers are an ex homicide detective and a crime journalist. So you know its good.

Hell yeah! I love that show. I've spent a lot of time in Baltimore. The Omar character is awesome. Not sure if it is true, but I saw something somewhere that the actor who plays him really has that scar. Anyway, all the casting and writing and pretty much everything on that show kicks ass.

New season soon!

I like all the seasons.. The season with the Irish dock workers was a bit different but still real dope. Season 4 is crazy.. Chris and Snoop will fuck you up.

Oh no you were right: the dockworkers were Irish, it was the smugglers who were Greek. That is the best season IMO. Those Greeks turned out to be more hardcore than the brother who slang rock lol.

My sentiments exactly. Greatest show ever! Truly. I have the first three seasons, and awaiting the fourth on DVD. As well as the last 5th season later this year. I hope Avon returns, if not for the drug game, just to see Wood Harris's face back on the show. Such a great addition (the dynamic between him & Stringer goes unmatched), as Marlo's crew doesn't hold the "street storyline" as much as the original 'street' plotlines. Besides Marlo took out Bodie - come on now.

*gives nod* to Omar Little - greatest television character ever created.

That show gets 3 thumbs up, One of the writters or the creator is actually an ex-cop and they have helped in the creation of other great shows like "homicide life on the streets" "OZ" "the corners" and A few others

i like the transformation from gangsta to thugs....i mean when i was coming up there were rules now a days the youngsta's (marlo) don't play by the same rules...the last season saw how 4 kids grow from just being kids to making choices they will play out in the next season...

I am a fan, I went back and found the DVD of "The Corner" which was before the WIRE, very moving and amazing portrail of drug use and the distruction...

They were Polish dock workers not Irish in The Wire 2

I await series 4...Great to see a series with no tokenism but tons of great black actors...

I've been watching the Black Donnely's a lot lately. Very good as well and the guy who played Frank Sebotca (spelling?) plays the head of the irish mob in the first episode.

Season 1,2 - Deadwood
Season 1,2 - Curb Your Enthusiasm

Can't wait for S3.2 of Enoutrage and S3 of Deadwood on DVD! Too bad deadwood is cancelled.

I never watch em on HBO because I tend to get into it and the wait for the next episode pisses me of, so I just buy the seasons when they release and watch em all over a day or two.

I finally got this the other day. I dont know if anyone else has bought this series on DVD, but the presentation is amazing. The box, the colors, the photos inside. Fuckng best DVD I ever purchased!!
