Actually, it is untrue that there aren't other countries that are at least on par with the freedoms held in the United States. I feel just as free in the UK as I did in the States. It is a myth that the USA is the 'free' and every other nation is full of people held in invisible cages.Comment

Banning guns would have the same effect. Normal citizens(or "gun nuts") wouldn't have any. But the psychos still would.

Every time someone says anything negative about the US, they're bashing them. Then the derogatory comments start, like how much better the US is than EVERYONE else.

I wouldn't compare drugs to guns. Drug prohibition is statistically a failure, and has been since its inception. On the other hand, if you look at states with assault weapon bans, etc, you notice that the gun crime is actually lower than the US.
I agree that possibly more bad guys would have guns than "normal citizens", but the murder rate overall would obviously decrease with strict gun laws.Comment

Well, you have those Byzantine slander and libel laws, and London has more cameras than any big city in the US. And high taxes = less economic freedom. In the US you get to keep more of your earnings; thus, more economic freedom (which I consider one of the most important).Comment

Actually it does equal economic freedom. One of the reasons the US became the US from the British Empire was because of taxes. Having low taxes is one of the most important aspects of American politics/life, and it is probably one of the only reasons Republicans actually win elections.
And, regarding the slander/libel, if the US had those laws and I said what you said, people would be saying it is an "excuse". I don't see the slander/libel thing as a big deal, but I guarantee if America had that and the UK didn't - ALL of the trolls would be saying "America is a dictatorship".Comment

The President of the United States was voted in legally, by the Supreme Court of the United States. It wasn't a perfect election, but it was the best that could've been done with the close vote count situation.
The Democrats bills getting vetoed is just part of the Constitution, it is called checks and balances.
Other countries helped the US invade Afghanistan and Iraq. I think the Iraq War is a complete waste and one of the lowest points in American history, but that wasn't up to the people.
No one is watching me do anything, those anti-terror laws are pretty bad, but we still do have the Constitution and court system. People just seem to think it is this big government spyglass, when it isn't.
Regarding the media, it is pretty bad, but that is why we have the internet and databases to do research.Comment
