We started using a PO box back in 1995 when we first started selling videos, primarily because a "fan" flew out from the opposite fucking coast to meet us without any warning.. (he said he was on business.. but whatever.. but he came to the house to meet my wife over an obsession created by a grainy VHS video.. lol who the fuck does that??) trust me, that only has to happen once before you start to freak out.. And around that same time, my sister asked why a porn site was in our name (she googled our address).. between both of those issues, we got a po box and a separate phone number for the business.
Our business name is tied to our po box, and we belong to over 400 affiliate programs.. I have only come across 2 (maybe 3) that do not allow po boxes, but they made an exception for us (after volunteering our residential address for their records, and just asking that all snail mail go to the po box).
More reasons for a po box other than what I said above:
For domain name registrations (even though we have the info set to private, I might miss a domain or two once in awhile)
I do not want my mailman seeing 10+ checks a week pile into my mailbox addressed to our business name that can be googled, nor do I want him seeing the return addresses. Not only that, but there are those bogus domain registry scam letters that get mailed constantly and on a ton of them they say the actual domain name in the friggin address window.
To me, a po box just makes sense.. both privacy and safety wise for adult businesses.
LMFAO! A PO box does not help with tax evasion.. having a po box does not make a 1099 "disappear" lol

Ohh i understand why people have them and i can completely see why they can be usefull.
Especially when dealing with crazy porn consumers

There is a use for these with Business to consumer for sure.
However i would NEVER use a PO for anything important such as banking.
Nor would i EVER send a PO address to anyone that i am doing a serious business deal with B2B.
And i have never, not in 10 years had one sent to me.
EDIT: What a creapy story though,
