Why work when you can get more not working in the UK?

Saw this story on the news today and was shocked that the UK has become a country that rewards some more for not working than those who go out and work to support them. It's an old story but I only heard about it today. Wonder what they do no.

The jobless couple with 10 children who rake in £32,000 a year in benefits.. and who STILL aren't happy

    And still not happy.

'I don't have much time for cleaning since I started a college course in catering,' said Mrs Crompton.

'I'm really nervous about what will happen at the end of my course. I've never worked and so it would be scary to think I would have to get a job. It would have to be very well-paid to pay more than the benefits.'
So the Government (UK tax payers) are funding her college course for a job she will never take. Stick her in a school feeding pupils 9-5 and deduct the wages from her benefits. Let her see how it works for the rest.

It seems the news is still true. And others are taking advantage of the scheme that rewards the lazy and penalises those who work.

All these people should be put to work cleaning the streets, painting the houses of the elderly, running errands for the elderly or any other work that contributes to the society they are currently parasites of. Plus taught about contraception and penalised for extra children rather than rewarding them.

    Same situation in my country.

I totally agree with you and I totally don't understand this government policy of encouraging the people to give birth to as many children as possible while ignoring the rest of the situation, though it's probably how some parties earn they votes.
Rest assured, your funds are in motion.

It's also the same here. It makes more sense to be poor, because you get preferencial treatment. Easier for my worker to take out a mortgage or loan then for me, despite his income being dependant on me entirely.

That use to enfuriate me too! my employee could get a mortgage because he had job stability, but I couldn't! I needed 30% down, 3 years of accounts, enough profit to buy the house outright... yet thats irrelevant if you're an employee... oh thats right it caught up with them and the banks ruined the economy!

Looks like all law makers read the same book and learn the same lesson

            Pretty the same here

It's easier for a minimum wage worker to get a loan approved than a self employer with 4 or 5 times that amount per month.

Gordon Brown knew that and created a society of people who had no option than to vote for Labor. Even though the problem is older than 13 years, he escalated it.

                  Not in USA of A!

$600 plus $300 for food stamps is the maximum for a mother and one child. You can't live on that much money, and drive to school or save up to buy a car.

Those folks are pretty bad, but there's always going to be an outlier to everything. Better those kids are fed and have a chance to be useful to society (There's 10 of 'em, that's good odds) than go back to Dickens style chimney sweeps and poor houses.

This couple had 10 kids, how many did unemployed Octomom have in total? 14 'ish , so yes, in the US of A as well.

I would also bet she milked a lot more then 35k a year out of it.

yeah its ridiculous, especially the tax system
                                        the way i see it
they tax you for doing well
they give your tax to those who cant be bothered to work, im not including those who are incapabale of working.

It's like the government is saying this:
"i know all those entreprenurs and those people who get up every day to work and earn a decent living, especially through these tough times, lets take there money from them and give it to those who dont wanna work, brilliant idea!!!"

                                          Labour did two things.

                                          1. Produce lots and lots of pointless public sector jobs.

                                          2. Got people to 'depend' and state aid.

This was clearly so people would vote Labour as your not going to vote for a party that could take your job away or your 'aid'.

The problem we have in the UK is people depend now on state aid. Rather than it being to help people it locks them into the system.

First you have a 16 year old who gets pregnant. Rather than stay at home where her parents can help, she is encouraged to live on her own in a flat. She often cannot cope.

She is then encouraged to have more and more kids and this means more cash and a better house.

The kids in turn suffer as how can a single mum look after 10 kids.

The kids then have poor heath, putting a strain on the NHS.

As the kids get older they too leave home, get pregnent and the cycle continues. Or they end up in prison at £40k a year.

We now have a strage situation. If your middle class and work, you have less. Chances are your kids stay at home till 30 or 40 untill they can afford to move out.

Its only those who do not work in the UK can afford to move out and have kids as they have the money given to them.

There is a health reason to work.

By mixing with people and getting out, people suffer less physicaly and mentally.

If you do not work, very quickly you end up deleloping mental health problems.

It also costs the state more as people end up living in areas that become deprived and run down. And so crime increases.

I think people in the UK will become more angry about this.

With fuel going up cost to go to work increases. It means you get less for working.

I think people are not going to have sypothy for those who have lots of kids and get £20 a year, when people are strugerling to go to work and pay bills.

If your a worker and you have less income you move into a smaller house. If your not working you simply have another kid and get more cash and a bigger house.

And Labour did somthing worse. They made it that by the time your elderly you have to sell your house to pay for your care, but those who do not work, have no need to sell anything.

So yes, your crazy top work in the UK.

In fact I was chatting to a 19 year old girl two years ago who was on about getting a job. I told her to thoink about it first as to be honest I said uyou may find not working is better for you.

Also remeber a few things about thayt scum bag family on £32,000.

                                                1. thats £32,000 tax free. a worker would have to pay a lot of that in tax. plus the cost to get to work.

                                                2. once the kids leave they can keep the big house.

                                                3. they can buy that big house at next to nothing after so many years.

                                                4. in a few years all 10 kids will expect to get council houses.

                                                5. i bet he is the moron type that will moan about polish coming to the uk for a job.

'I'm not satisfied with the benefits we get - I want more. I haven't been able to work because I've had to bring up the kids,' Mrs Crompton said.

'If the kids need something I go and get it. If I need something, like a new pair of shoes, then I'll get it. We don't go without.'
This is the problem. People expect to get money for everything.

There are many workers who cannot afford shoes that week and may have to go for a bit or use a credit card.

The crazy thing is, a lot who are reading this post probably work from home. What is stopping these people from working from home self employed? They still get tax-credit if they do not earn enough so there is less risk.

Near me a little old lady makes good money from baking cakes that are sold in a local shop.

To be honest I blame the min wage too. It means now no one wants to work for the min, as they think they are too good for it.

It also means employers can not afford to take on more staff.

I know a few firms simply closed when the min wage kicked in as they could not afford staff.

I suspect a lot of people on this forum who work for themselves make way way less than min wage when they consider how many hours they work and what income they get.

Dependent children rely on their parents for financing and housing.
The child could try to finance himself or herself, but it is difficult.

the problem is, many have the argument that 'why should the poor not have the right to have children'.

a lot in labour have that view.

the problem is the rich are no longer rich.

all labour did was tax and red tape businesses.

i watched a month ago a business that had the police and local authorites spy on them. they scraped cars. some little swinr had spent two weeks following this chap and got the police to do a sting on him. he thought the bloke would not have the correct paper work (just to pick up a car and deliver it to the scrap yard you now need about 10 documents). It tuned out he had all the documents. So as this poinltess prat looked daft he then tried to prosicute him for some posters. In the end he got a fine.

I just thought, why did this bloke bother to set up a business only to have the police pester him and then get a fine. He could have ended up in prison.

So yes, why even set up a business in the UK?
