I can just see it now: OK, everyone, including all you killers/thieves/rapists/psychos, please turn your guns in now. We know you like breaking laws, but we really think this new "no gun" one is going to work. Thank you.

    Love always,

    America

    That'll work..........

It's not about guns or gun control or having a gun or not having one or what other countries think about another countries gun laws.

It's about a fucked up kid who went on a killing spree.

I think it is a shame that no one in any of those buildings had any weapons to defend themselves and pick off this fucker. I'm surprised that when he was walking down aisles in rooms randomly shooting students, no one rushed him and at least tried to take him out. How about when he reloaded TWICE in one room and continued his random killing? Surely there was moments when his guard was down?

What would you have done if you were in a room and some crazy bastard starts randomly shooting people to your left and right, would you think maybe you're next? Would you rush him? Would you pretend to be dead? Why not discuss that instead of a non-issue like gun control?

I know if I thought I was going to die, I would at least want to get a piece of the person who was going to kill me. Did you know that before these school shootings began, police were trained to evacuate areas where the shooters weren't first then contain the shooters later? Now they're trained to go after the shooters first in an attempt to limit the deaths of innocent people. Perhaps that would be a more interesting discussion, then trying to force one persons views on another and if there's any resistance, just calling them a retard.

There is no solution to this tradgedy. There is only lessons to be learned.

I have a BB gun for possums and racoons that bother my doggies , a little 22 rifle (literally a kid's version because I'm close to being a midget) and a 38.

I've tossed around getting a shotgun and will talk to the guys at the local gun store/shooting range (used to be an outdoor shooting range, now indoor - I liked outdoor better ) about finding one I can handle. Wig has a skeet shooting set up at his house, but his guns are too heavy for me.

And yes, I have a permit to carry and yes, I do. Living where I do, if someone broke in while I'm here (I couldn't care less if they come when I'm gone), even if the alarm goes off it's going to take the police at LEAST 45 minutes to get here. Plus I take my 38 with me when I go to Atlanta - THAT'S a scary place.

My grandfather had guns as did my father. Neither hunted except when they were kids and only fired as adults for practice - but like me, they would rather have one and not need it than not have one and need it. We learned from birth to respect guns. My grandfather kept one in his night stand and one in his glovebox. We knew the ass whooping we'd get by touching one would have outweighed any kind of fun we could have with them.

My brother and my son each got BB guns when they were about 8 or 10.

i agree 100% with you but in todays world the kid who shot and killed the guy that was on the killing rampage would be jailed, and convicted of murder and not to mention the lawsuits from the killers family for killing their son.

and yes we now lived in a totaly fucked up world.

Here in NE you can carry a gun in its holster on your person. And the license to carry concealed has just passed.

                      Good post.

I've read in certain articles that there is now discussion about the possibility of arming teachers, as in giving them access to properly stored weapons to defend their students. Although I think back to some of the teachers I had years ago and I can't see some of them being at all effective much less imposing brandishing a handgun.

But I suppose if they were given proper training.... ah it's an interesting notion but I'd be surprised if any schools went ahead with it.

                            All those people owning guns.

100 random people owning guns or 100 random people not owning guns. Whats more likely to cause a problem.

A gun is something you do not need, until you absolutely need it.

Franck I do see the point you're putting forth in a lot of threads, I do.

But really, have you ever been out somewhere and found yourself being followed by 3 or 4 hoodlums who are making cute little comments amongst themselves like "y0, I wonder if this little fuckhead has any cash on him?"
"Yeah, maybe we outta find out"

Maybe they're armed, maybe not. Maybe they ONLY intend to rob you and not crack your head open or bust a few caps in your vulnerable ass?

                                Or

You're in your house or appartment with your family, you have your doors locked (sensible) but one night some guy still breaks in. You hear him coming into your residence but what can you do? Okay, you might try attacking him with a bat, and if he doesn't shoot you first you might be lucky, or you might not. If he does get the drop on you and puts you down you may have to sit by helplessly as he rapes your wife or daughter (or both), then maybe he kills all of you.

Well guess what?... there are areas in the US where this sort of shit happens on a regular basis.

As I've said before, you'd like it if every normal law-abiding citizen disarms themselves. When you can find a way to force the crooks to do the same THAT'S when I will whole-heartedly support what you're saying.

I agree with those saying it is too easy to buy guns in the US.

                                  All those people owning guns.

100 random people owning guns or 100 random people not owning guns. Whats more likely to cause a problem.
If a guy is threatening to rape me and he has a knife, baseball bat, rope, fist, whatever, his "gun ownership" is moot. Mine is gold.
