    How much longer do you think the U.S. will survive?

    What I mean by that is.....

    History repeats itself and "World Power" has been known to shift time and time again.

    IMHO, the U.S. is being flushed straight down the shitter...Has been for a long time but especially now. I'm not sure if America will be remain "a super power" after facing another revolutionary war or if another country will dominate us but either way....We are in for some major changes.

    I will honestly be surprised if the U.S. remains in tact long enough to see another President.....And I have predictions on how that could play out as well.

    No matter how you look at it.....We're fucked and as much as I hate to say it.....Rightly so after the way we treat other countries.

    Your thoughts?

      I am seeing the start of another civil war in the US. Only during that time do I not see the US being a super power. after the dust settles, I think things will work our again, and the US will rise stronger than before.

              I don't know that it will be as soon as that, but I have to agree.. We've been noticably losing steady ground for the last few years with no turn-around in site..

              Too many have lived their lives in this cushy country; taking it all for granted, so they think it could never happen.. Hope it won't, but the direction we're headed isn't lookin' good..

                                          I think it will be a combination of all of that. The economy is certainly a strong contributor though. This country is in debt up to it's eyebrows. How much money do we currently owe China? Yet they continue to loan us money on a regular basis. Even if they never collected on what we owe them, all they have to do is stop the loans and we are fucked.

                                          The school system in America is a fucking joke.

                                                      Let's say for a moment that we do see another President....

                                                      WHAT IF:

                                                      What if Hillary and Obama decided to run together and they were successfully elected into office? Or even another rigged election because we've seen that happen......

                                                      If Hillary goes in a Pres., she will be assassinated by a black. That person will become a hero of sorts because by killing Hillary, the U.S. gains it's first black President.

                                                      If Obama goes in as Pres....either by election, rigged election, or default after Hillary is gone, he will most likely be assassinated by a white supremest. That assassination will cause riots like we've never seen in this country and i will turn the U.S. upside down. = Civil War

                                                                      You can't compare our economy to any other era or any other time in history. It is unprecedented to have this amount of foreign money coming in to the country. No economist has any clue what will happen because this has never happened in history before.

The Roman Empire collapsed on it's self from internal problems and plunged the World in to the Dark Ages. Many even blame the introduction of Christianity for the decline of the Empire.

                                                                                      Many economies are either indirectly or directly linked to the US economy. A complete failure of the US would have devestating affects World wide.

This includes omitted items such as govt liability to retirees (pensions due) and a wide range of other items, some fairly major.

                                                                                                  Currently there are still borrowings from a number of nations - mainly Central Bank of China (with a borrowing level of $2 - $4 billion/day). This supposed to represent 25-33% of the total daily borrowings from other countries - so not a good thing!!! :-)

                                                                                                  US badly needs a spectrum of good core industry and manufacturing ability - and less dependence on foreign imports.

                                                                                                  Education? :-) Well.. only me, but education is the future of every nation.

                                                                                                      another country wont invade you's while your as powerful as you are now, but wait about 40 years when your countries slipping out of the top 5 and i'm sure we'll see a few nations having a go at conquering america, or atleast testing your nerve. falklands ring a bell to anyone? but i'm sure it will be alot worse for the US after the forgien policy, trading policy, and basically the entire US policy that your countries took recently. a few countries i'm sure will want a bit of revenge when the time comes... luckily we'll be a fully funtioning EU by that time and we wont have a moron like tony blair force us into a war to protect the US.

                                                                                                                  Remember less then a century ago the British ruled the world.

                                                                                                                  The next Empire will be the Asian empire.

                                                                                                                  They will have the brute force(economic) to build an empire.

                                                                                                                  The need to have housing, cars and materials will drive them to get what ever they need to have what they want, even if they have to take it.

                                                                                                                  That is what drove the US Empire, out of a depression where people had nothing they fought tooth and nail to get whatever they wanted and they did.

                                                                                                                  Now that the US has everything whats next? If the US doesn't figure that out then the fall will be quicker.

                                                                                                                  People don't like Bush and I am a liberal but hey if you want to have a SUV big house, and cheap goods then Bush is the kinda guy you want.

It's stagnant and deep in debt. It's not that US folks don't work hard enough - they work longer hours than most western nations. But.. what for? All they are getting is a fairly poor education system, ripoff health system, getting deeper in debt from war shit and a load of credit cards maxed to the hilt (matching the govt's own debt).

                                                                                                                                                      Someone mentioned "lazy" - sure, there is a degree of that, but more on the "complacent" side. What has been happening is letting the machine roll on, but with no product coming out the end of the conveyor belt. USA Inc is a business the same as any corp - unless the books are managed the lot goes down the drain.

                                                                                                                                                      BTW.. The "supreme" biz/industrial environment for earning is China - they produce and export more product worldwide than the US.

                                                                                                                                                                  Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

Just there will be little or no economic power from the US. Between India and China there is no need to supply goods to 300 million people who are heavily in debt and have no leverage.

Slowly the US dollar will erode. WHich is happening but if it continues over the next 10 years there is gonna be big problems. What the fuck are you gonna buy?                                                                                                                                                                                                   It's the same principle a number of major corps use - each "division" stands on it's own two feet and manages it's "micro biz" where the management have total daily hands-on control and are responsible for their own "destiny". (Virgin is a typical example - Branson may be the "chief", but the diversity of Virgin is extensive and no individual or small team could control that effectively - hence, it's split up into "units" specializing in their own markets)

                                                                                                                                                                                                  Flip side is when something gets too big - it falters. It's just unmanageable and often becomes stagnant... then downhill. On a vaguely political angle (trying to avoid this cos it appears too divisive in the US ) - let's be honest, - these folks cannot manage a country. Most of them have no practical experience over years (tho a good few have!) - but they are elected based on how much media/funding they arouse, and not on any real practical experience. Just seems to me they may be well-intended - but extremely unproductive and costly - and taxpayers are bearing the brunt of this baggage.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  Probably one of the differences with the US system is little qualification is needed to play a role. This is the reverse in many other countries (tho they still have the stupid mob as well) - where there is at least a successful track record and often accompanied by extensive experience.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  Central/Federal govts are fine for specific functions, but they do tend to end up bogged down in crap and cost volumes of money - and forget the word "serve"
