It would be nice to see anything but hip-hop. To be really honest D, I always found the players ball to be boring. It looks like a big party for everyone on stage, but not for the people watching the show. Of course it also didn't help that the people I had talked to hadn't heard of the artists you had at previous shows, and the fact that not everyone is into rap and hip hop. Furthermore, sorry to say this but alot of what makes hip-hop sound good is all done in the studio, and completely non existant when it comes to the live show. The last players ball I was at in Vegas 2 years ago (I think) sounded like crap.
Sorry.... don't hate me.
Anyway,
That being said I think that the trade show audience might get a kick out of the following artists from your list, for the following reasons:
De La Soul
They've been around for ever, and make REAL music. Pretty deep too.
Digital Underground
You're kidding, right?
Warren G
Wasn't he the one at Vegas a couple of years ago? Please don't.
Xzibit
Maybe! I like his sound.
Vanilla Ice
He's METAL now and actually sounds really good. I don't think trade show people would appreciate his show now but I would definately go.
Morris Day and the Time
I've never seen them in person but I bet their show is great. Morris Day was a charismatic hoot in the day and his music is kitch and fun. I'd go.
Mix Master Mike of Beastie Boys
YES!!!!!!!!!!! I would definately go. The guy is a genius.
Flo Rider
FUCK NO. What a no-talent jerkoff.
Flavor Flav
Meh...
If you really want my opinion, forget the SHOW and bring on a couple of DJ's, staring DJ Mike. This keeps everyone talking and dancing with each other, and different DJ's can change up the music to fit the crowd. This keeps everyone talking and dancing with each other to different styles of music without watching a show they may not appreciate and leaving early.
