                                                          havent used gallery 2 in a while, im sure theirs is a gallery 2 plugin that communicates with the script, and uses your wp theme for the content.

                                                          so you can still use gallery 2 to uplaod and manage the photos, but use wp to show the content.

                                                              smarty sucks, the original concept was good but the end result has been a complete fail. Originally "smarty" was to be an easy interface between PHP script developers and web site visual designers. Even though it is popular amongst minimal PHP developers and minimal visual designers it is a piss poor way to create a web site.

                                                              It continues on because neither one has mastered their realm.
