Yeah, wish I could! I don't think it's really any Global Warming thing, as such. Tornadoes are rare but not unheard of in your area and there is such a thing as a "tornado storm", in which tornadoes occur more or less randomly across North America. We've only been really studying tornadoes for less than fifty years, so we don't have a good handle on them yet.

Most do but many live in "slab" houses with no basements, so they run to the neighbor's places! At the farm we have a basement and an old Cold War bomb shelter. At the old city hose there is a basement. Some slab houses have "safe rooms" constructed of concrete with steel doors which are securely anchored to the foundation.Comment
