    Eighty-Fucking-Three Cents

    Fucking US dollar.

    Fucking Australian economy.

I long for the days when the AUD was worth a wonderful US 48c.

    Today it is OVER 83c.

Relative net income has dropped 3% without a thing you can about it in the last 3 days.

Fuck off John Howard, roll on a new US President !!

Ahah!! Be happy - 49 cents against the UK pound

It's time to just buy the US - a $500K home costs less than GBP 250k!

I love it when the Aussie economy fucks up.

Wish it would happen again soon.

yeah, great time to invest in USD!
Once a new president comes in hopefully it will pick up again - combine that with a new Aussie PM to fuck up the economy and it's a perfect mixture for some 0.48 action!

My home page is a little script that shows the past 28 days of rates, and averages... it's not looking too good at the moment.

Red average = current rate is below the applicable average
Green average = current rate is above the applicable average
Do you see any green averages???

Some days have massive jumps, like from 0.8255 to 0.8350... nearly an entire cent (about 1.15% change) in 24h...

I missed the 1 point change by a couple of hours, would have been some nice loot simply for transferring from the US$ account to the AUD$ account - same bank, linked accounts, no fees.

But missed it and then watched it go further to make my day even worse.

                    :-(

Assuming you meant an Australian based institution - is that HSBC, or another bank? I've been thinking about a dual currency account for a while.

I feel ya, CTB. I remember when the Cdn to US dollar rate was 1.55... ah, those were the days. Now it's 1.12 on a good day.

The Bush admin's "strong dollar policy" has been a success.
