so lets say you say something like....

"from dating... to mating!"

that way people expect that a date will get them laid on that site... in a playful kind of way... or does that still has too much of a breeding / animal meaning to it?

over here in the uk it means friend we say " hello mate how u doing" or "Im just going down the pub with my mate"

Mate is a term for someone between a friend and an acquaintance. Or any stranger you meet.

yes i know the noun is friend, im talking about the verb (mating / breeding / having sex) - also in the UK.
