StrongBox, ProxyPass, Phantom Frog What one to get???

Which one is the best? and why??
I also, need to make sure I can run third party feeds. Some of the places I buy feeds from, will not work with the current system I currently use. The system I use changes the members URL so, some third party places can't authorize wild card url's.

But lets hear the pro's and con's of all the systems......

I have plenty of third party feeds in my members are and have never ran into a problem with ProxyPass or Phantom Frog in that respect. I now use ProxyPass and I am happy with them.

I used to use Phantom Frog and they were good.... too good. I ended up getting a lot of members banned. Even though they have a feature so the member can type in correct info and get back in, alot of guys never read that they just got pissed.

I have never used strong box so no opinion there.

I have used many different password protection systems...

ProxyPass has a web/secret word auth system now to help add protection, it works with pretty much every plugin system. I haven't ever tested Phantom Frog.

StrongBox has worked with all but one feed provider that I have tried. The older 'referral' based plugins, besides being impossible to protect, simply need a wild card referrer added in, like %.members.paysite.com or *.members.paysite.com - If you have any problems with getting a feed to work you should email ray if the content provider isn't able to help.

Proxypass is the best...period, it's an apache module, it works on a server level not some crappy CGI deal, has all the fetures you ever need, can limit members based on IP's, # of logins, bandwidth used, can use it to geoip redirect, have a login screen with captcha.

IIt's one of the very few programs I've bought in the 10 years I've been a webmaster and have not regretted.

You wont regret buying strongbox.

We have been very happy with it. It paid for itself in just the first month by stopping a few members who had shared passwords and ran our feed bill through the roof.

Its a great product and I love the extensive reports!
