you arguing here on gfy doesnt solve anything it doesnt bring back any lifes does it?
I cant believe you people wont admit america has a problem with school shootings and if you can come up with a solution other than banning guns that will stop this problem then go ahead.
IMO the best solution is to ban guns. My opinion is shared amongst the majority of the european communityComment

Those words should be carved in stone and set up at a monument in Washington D.C.You go ahead and give up your right to own a gun. We here in the states will continue to fight for ours. Our right to own guns is in our constitution, as to limit the power of the federal government, not for hunting. Criminals love unarmed victims. You may live in a place where everyone loves one another. I live in a place where people break into your house and kill you for your stuff.
They should call the monument: The Reality StoneComment

yes insult me for posting my opinion.i cant believe after a further attack you still think guns should be allowed

i cant believe people are shitting on me here. just look at the figures here! how many attacks in schools were there in the summer? have some fucking reasoning!Comment

One school shooting was all it took to make you so willing to give up your right of self-defense? There could be 100 school shootings, and it wouldn't change our opinion on the ability to defend our lives and the lives of our families. You don't get it, but that is okay, you ain't from here.Comment

When I think you reached the bottom of the stupid barrell, you sink even lower.Actually I said "federal agent" Local police are paid by the state, which to me makes them an agent of the gov.
How I worded it should not matter much, everyone getting all huffy puffy and name calling and everything. All I was saying is students cannot carry guns, so the theory of "if a lot of the students had guns this would have ended sooner" idea.
Do I hate guns no, do I think they are out of control yes, I think most people would agree there. Should people be allowed to own them, sure thing.
Local Police are paid by the City, not the State, or the fucking federal goverment.

I don't care where the money is coming from, you changed it from a debate on a topic to trying to make me look silly about how I word who pays the police.
Bottom line you're not going to carry a gun in a school unless you are a cop, police officer, work for the gov, are a federal agent, etc etc. A 19 year old student is not going to be carrying a gun, I was actually agreeing with a post you made lol

People that value their right of self-defense get very passionate about this issue. Your ideology exists in our country, and threatens a right that we value, that you obviously don't. People are quick to give up rights that they don't use, without respect for those who do. They banned guns on campus, and it kept all the guns out, except for the guy that didn't care if they were ban or not. The people that respected the banned got shot like fish in a barrel.Last edited by scardog; 04-16-2007, 11:02 AM.Comment

You are not an American. You have no idea what it is to be an American. You have no clue how firearms are attached to the Amercian Psyche, how owning one created this Country of ours with force from Britain.
No one will ever BAN guns in the USA.

London, England: "Capital gun crime rises by 50 per cent" Last year
Figures published this week by the Home Office are expected to show that offences involving guns have soared by as much as 50 per cent in some parts of the country. . . .
In London, a major area of concern is still black-on-black gun crime, despite huge efforts by the Met to combat such violence. According to Operation Trident, the Met's unit combating black gun crime, offences in the capital rose by more than 50 per cent during 2005, with 164 offences recorded between April and October. This is compared with only 108 the previous year. . . .
Outside London, the figures also show a disturbing rise in the use of guns. In Bedfordshire, gun-related offences have risen by 20 per cent over the past two years, from 173 in 2004 to 207 in 2005. The number of cases where people were found carrying a gun more than doubled from 19 to 43 in the same period. There was also a rise in the number of stolen firearms seized - 18 compared with one the year before. . . .Comment

this is really sad...
the problem with the usa is that all news reports mention "worst uni shooting ever in usa", while in many countries there has never been a single uni shooting before.
when guns are so easily available in a country that starts wars, this is what happens.
and now comes bush telling it's so wrong to shoot people. lol, nice example you are yourself.Comment

I posted about this earlier. Look back for "Pandora's Box".
The legal right to carry firearms is a massive detterant to crime.
We can not ban the guns, it's just too huge.
The fact that schools are known for being "Gun Free" zones weighs heavily on idiot's like this today. For the one fact, there won't be anyone to fight back.
It's a huge problem, and not something one person can fix, or this would have been solved a long time ago.
Till the day comes that we have a solution, I will be a lawful citizen with my right to bear arms.

While people 18-25 are technically adults, most are very immature. If guns were allowed to be carried by students there would be daily incidents of these "adults" pulling them out on someone, using them for intimdation, ect for one reason or another.you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..Comment

After reading four depressing pages of propaganda here, it occurs to me that life is worth less than I thought. Or at least people seem to value it less now than in the past.
I'd like to see someone intelligently explain how more guns equals a safer society.
If you give more people the power to kill then chance are more people are going to abuse that power. Take a look at gang violence in Compton in the 80's and 90's for an example of this. Or you could watch the movie "City of God" for another example. Both these stories end in violence and death because guns end up in the hands of disenfranchised youth who don?t have enough years under their belt to understand the value of life or comprehend the weight of their decisions.Comment

Let's get back to your solution. A blanket gun ban.
How much gun crime did the gun ban decrease?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/1440764.stm
A new study suggests the use of handguns in crime rose by 40% in the two years after the weapons were banned.
The research, commissioned by the Countryside Alliance's Campaign for Shooting, has concluded that existing laws are targeting legitimate users of firearms rather than criminals.
The ban on ownership of handguns was introduced in 1997 as a result of the Dunblane massacre, when Thomas Hamilton opened fire at a primary school leaving 16 children and their teacher dead.
Existing gun laws do not lead to crime reduction and a safer place
David Bredin
Campaign for Shooting
But the report suggests that despite the restrictions on ownership the use of handguns in crime is rising.
The Centre for Defence Studies at Kings College in London, which carried out the research, said the number of crimes in which a handgun was reported increased from 2,648 in 1997/98 to 3,685 in 1999/2000.
It also said there was no link between high levels of gun crime and areas where there were still high levels of lawful gun possession.
Of the 20 police areas with the lowest number of legally held firearms, 10 had an above average level of gun crime.
And of the 20 police areas with the highest levels of legally held guns only two had armed crime levels above the average.

I have an idea. We would make it against the law to brandish your weapon for intimidation. Since laws are the way to approach the problem, we would just make tougher laws for pulling your gun on someone. That would of course stop the behavior.Comment

The guns you are speaking of are in the hands of homicidal drug criminals. We are suggesting getting more guns in the hands of law abiding citizens. After reading four depressing pages of propaganda here, it occurs to me that life is worth less than I thought. It is already against the law to brandish your firearm as a means of intimidation.
