CC Bill is losing 2/7 of our referrers, you are loosing money!!

If you run a resource site and your job is reselling sponsorprograms through affiliate codes, you might be interested in this. If you sell memberships, you're interested too: Read on ...

We started promoting Snow's programs few days ago, because he was generous enough to make a TGP2 gallery section as well (nice job, thanks). We posted some announcements and got some referrals too, BUT....

Out of the 7 referrals we had in our list, we also were contacted by 2 people I KNOW, who told me they just joined using our refcode. Now, these 2 ppl were NOT in my reflist. We tried to sort it out with CC Bill, but they found no errors anywhere. We presented them with the cookie information of my two refs, which had our affiliate code in there, as well as the URL from where they clicked the link. So, all the information needed was in the cookie, yet those referrals were not automatically assigned to us.

In my book that means that we are not getting credit for AT LEAST 28.5% of the referrers we 'score', as these are only 2 ppl I know that contacted me, might be more than just those 2. Which means we are reselling a product without getting paid, kinda like a charity case.

If their tracking is the same for selling memberships, you might as well loose at least 28.5% of your sales too. Needless to say I am VERY disappointed. I like most sponsors I use, but if we give them new salespeople (gallerybuilders and siteowners), we'd like to get credit for that, this way the sponsors are making more money, because they do not have to pay their resellers

    This SUCKS A.

    ps. I'll stop crying now

Ummm...... that REALLY sucks, specially cuz more than 50% of my gallery money is from CCBill sites... like COHF.

I would like to hear more about that problem.

      Take care Naughty!

        in a perfect world-

your friend: hey I signed up for bla bla bla
you: did you use my referal code
        your friend: no, sorry.

        in the real world-

your friend: hey I signed up for bla bla bla
you: did you use my referal code
your friend: um, yeah. sure I did.

coming here with bullshit accusations is cool.

12clicks. It is not a BS accusation. I like CC Bill a lot, their way of presenting sponsorinformation is very well, their service too. No complaints about that whatsoever.

But, why would anybody tell me they joined using my ref if they did not? They are not friends, they are contacts. How can they make up cookie information?
          I told CC Bill:
"I best tell ppl to watch their refcodes and ask ppl to contact them when they join through their refcode, which does sound silly, but whatever it takes I guess..."

They said that is a good idea.

I am not trying to hurt them, like I said, their service is the best so far, but I am saying you best ask ppl that join using your ref, contact you after they did. That is all.

I had a not so great experience with CCBill last week...I was trying to add funds to my sex.com account, but CCBill declined my card...which was weird because that card worked the previous week, plus there was 6k credit on it. So I tried my other card, still declined. So finally I try my girlfriends card on another laptop/IP, and CCBill declined that card too!

We have had issues where people questioned whether or not they were being paid correctly and whether signups were being counted through ccbill.

In the one case of this happening I called ccbill and they went to the resellers page then tracked a sale. What we found was that the reseller was using a mousover code, alt tag, target, and other additons to the reseller code that made the link code over several hundred characters long. Basicly the long link code was the problem in this case. All programs have a max character limit and if you exceed that limit the program throws away the extra characters to prevent an overflow.

If you use the code correctly and as specified you shouldnt have a problem. I said in December that I has switched back to ccbill and my income is much better as well as my resellers income. Keep in mind they charge me much less but my resellers are definetely being credited more accurately with ccbill.

Im also loving the hell out of their new admin. The new admin setup signup pages that auto generate the user/pass for members and tells me my top referring sales URLs. If your a ccbill webmaster you should give it a try. There are many new and useful features.

yes, my mastercard is declined too... but i dont care because...
we are with ccbill for a very long time - we have from 0% to 2% of weekly chargebacks with them while we have serious enough amount of sales and rebills every day....

with all other billing companies after several months of work we started having 3% and more of chargebacks - too much...

i think that ccbill has the best anti-fraud system and there are more advantages than disadvantages of it

heheh... we have our own ccbill sites with many active partners and advertize many ccbill sites ourself...
No problems like this noticed !
Just fucking TGP traffic converts too bad !!!
We have couple of partners who send us serious traffic from TGPs - they have conversion 1:2000 or 1:3000 or something like this. And the guys who send traffic from "Free sites" or toplists and even CJs have better results.
                              But... no one complained yet

Snow, do you not remember our conversation on this subject, and me telling you the problem I had.

Now my problem was my own fault, now am thinking a little Diff. after what Naughty is saying.

Naughty get Kimmy to have her programmer look at the code....

If you did what I did and contacted ccbill's support, they told me everything was ok, Kimmy
saw a post I made here and had a programmer look and found a problem....

                                May I add:
kimmy and ccbill ROCKS in my books...

Like I said, no complaints what-so-ever about their support or program itself, I love it. Corvett had a programmer look at the links, they tested it and found no problems.

The only 'issue' I have is that 95% of the referrals you get are crap, 5% makes a descent buck. If you 'loose' 2 in 10 refs due to whatever reason, chances are high this is a 'good' referral. Simply causing you to loose money.

Ok, can someone please explain to me why the alt tag would effect this at all since the alt tag is part of the image syntax, and not the actual linking code syntax?

i freakin HATE ccbill, iv had nothing but problems with them too, anyone else remember a few weeks ago when they werent showing sales when they were switching soemthing over? or did that just happen to me? or better yet, they dicked one of my sponsors, he lowered payouts from $50 to $20 and ccbill is still paying me $50 per sale. thier stats are about the ugliest interface iv ever seen. oh yeah, i referred a friend of mine whose links were working perfectly, and we both tried our personal credit cards, and no sign ups showed up. isnt that odd? he sent a sponsor 10,000 clicks and got no sales, from traffic that normally converts at <400:1 they counted the clicks, just not the sales! i try to steer as far away from ccbill as possible and will never use them if i ever need a credit card processor. they seem to screw a lot of things up! but whatever i guess, have fun getting screwed over by ccbill and thier stupid situation.

My mistake, I shouldnt have included the alt tag.. it was all the crap he added to the link that was screwing things up. Anyway, after that I dont recommend making many changes to the code.

CCBill can test your link code and see if its ok. It easier to just keep it in the original format though. Im not an expert on their code Im just telling you what happened.

ccbill's way is to scrub more and have less chargebacks... if you want the opposite, i suggest you try jetbill...

So I tried my other card, still declined. So finally I try my girlfriends card on another laptop/IP, and CCBill declined that card too!
                                              For crissake, listen to yourself.
You used the same card at the same place last week and now you want to use it again? Most people would consider repeated signups as bad. Even if the account was designed for that it'd be much higher risk.

Then you try another card directly after being spotted with suspicious behavior on the first. Can't think why you'd get declined there, eh?

Then you try a third card from what is almost certainly a very similar IP directly after that. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out why that wouldn't work.

I bet CCBill love people like you. "My card doesn't work, even though I tried it 20 different ways therefore CCBill is crap." I'd say they're working just fine.

Yep, more chargebacks if you don't scrub.

Do yourself a favor guys, as jimmyf mentioned -- if there's a problem, LET ME KNOW -- especially if you think it is continuing or support wasn't able to help you.

EMAIL is the best way, since I always check that, where I might not have time to read a board every day, especially at night or on a weekend.

I can't think of a day in years when I haven't checked my email at least once.

                                                    Here's something to chew on.

You CANNOT use a custom form for the referral signups UNLESS the person signing up already has a CCBill account and enters that number, username and pass into the form. If you attempt to push thru a new signup from scratch without that information on your own join form, the script will not cookie correctly.

                                                    Any questions, let me know.
