The winning bidder backed down when told to pay up claiming he wasn't really bidding so Mr. Jackson of Barrett Jackson went ahead and bought the car himself so the seller could get his money.

On a side note, the seller of the Veyron had the winning bid on a VW Micro Bus at $100K so he just sold his 08 Veyron with 11,000 miles for 1 million less than he paid for it and then way over paid for the Micro Bus.

Either he can't decide what kind of VW he wants or the auction has an open bar

i don't get why peeps are so smitten with the veyron, it's not particularly good looking, it's a several year old design (ages in the supercar world).

and there are other cars out there faster........
