OMG this is soo fucking weird, me n some of the boys were having a bit of a fight night tonight an we came up with this EXACT discussion!!!

We figure no matter how many times the big fags grabbed him and tried to wrestle him, he'd just super poke their pressure points and make em shit themselves live on TV

Or he'd just awesome-kick them in the balls

I thought he grew up in Hong Kong. I know he was acting in Asian films when he was still a very small boy.

                  Dear Fellow Combat Enthusiasts:

Glen Danzig, of the eponymously named band, and teacher of Jeet Kune Do, recently had an opportunity to show us all how effective the fighting system is in a real life brawl (well, I suppose you could call it that). Danizg is the smaller gentleman on the right in the video.

Has a Jeet Kune Do fighter ever been in the Ufc or Pride ?

I would totally like to see a video.
Bruce Lee meant JKD to be more of a philosophy, mentality, and way of life; not necessarily a martial style. So it's possible a fighter has been thru the ring who practices Jeet Kune Do, but knows nothing of the modern-day martial art.

                    Jeet Kune Do Demonstration

                    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0hikyrTI5M

I think if any of these Jeet Kune Do experts got into the Octagon they would be over fast with them landing in the hospital

Dont believe kids that Bruce lee was anything great as a matter of fact didnt hong kong send someone over to fight him for bringing martial arts secrets to the western world?

I think the did and after the fight he was almost perminatley crippled
THIS IS WERE HE IS LETS LEAVE HIM THERE PLEASE............

Why try so hard to discredit and cut down a person Time Magazine named one of the 100 Most Important People of The 20th Century and is a hero to many millions of people around the world.

i love it when ppl watch the bruce lee story and think they know everything about his life, first off all The Bruce Lee Story was a semi fictionalised account of his life, so the fight where he gets crippled never actually happened.
this is how it actually went down.

1965 (Age 24): Oakland - Several months after he begins teaching, he is challenged by, Wong Jack Man, a leading Kung-Fu practitioner in the Chinatown Community. They agree: If Bruce looses, he will, either close his school, or stop teaching Caucasians; and if Jack looses, he will stop teaching. Jack Man Wong does not belie Bruce would actually fight, and tries to delay the match. Bruce becomes angered and insists that they not wait. Wong then tries to put limitations on techniques. Bruce refuses "rules"and the two go no holds barred. Bruce begins to pound his opponent in only a couple of seconds. As Bruce is winning, Wong attemps to flee, but is caught by Bruce. Bruce begins to beat him on the ground. Students of the other teacher attempted to step in and help their teacher, James Lee, Bruce's good friend prevent this. Later he is bothered on why the fight took so long and begins to re-evaluate his style. He is determined that he is not in his top physical condiiton. Thus, the early concepts of Jeet Kune Do (JKD), "The art of the intercepting fist" is created. JKD is an art including techniques of all types of fighting. (i.e. American Boxing, Thai Kick Boxing, Japanese Karate, etc.) His style is no style.

1970 (Age 30): Los Angeles - Bruce injures his sacral nerve and expreiences severe muscle spasms in his back while training. Doctors told him that he would never kick again. During the months of recovery he starts to document his training methods and his philosophy of Jeet Kune Do. Later after his death, The Tao of Jeet Kune Do is published by his wife in memory of Bruce Lee.

i REALLY DO LIKE YOUR AUTHENTIC EXPLANATION:
However your missing the total point that
#1 He pissed off the wrong people for releasing sacred cultural infomation to the rest of the word and that is why he suffered from the Dim Mak in which he was given in the actual fight.
#2 He was at the time of the prime of his life a simple Kung fu practitioner (nothing special at all)Everyone in China knows Kung fu of some form (maybe not so much now as then but none the less he was common.
#3 He developed a half assed style of Jeet Kune Do Which had at the time very little students Some of which are today just as good if not better than Bruce Lee I.E. Dan Inasato.
Reason the style is half assed is that it was only completely understood by him after years and years of training in Legitimate Traditional Kung Fu.
So anyone wanting to learn Jeet Kune Do would then have to completely have mastered that art first to understand where he was comming from.
#4 Since his death many of his Followers have tried to carry this Jeet Kune Do torch by developing yet even more halfassed stlyes calling themselves supposed Martial Art Masters Many of todays Jeet Kune Do Schools are Totally bogus shit and have these such Leaders.
                              # 5 I would like to see a legitimate Jeet Kune Do student get into a ring with a common Thai Boxer or a Seven year old Brasilian JuJitsu Student and Laugh my balls off as they get Pumbbled.
#6 Bruce Lee was (AN ACTOR).

Chist take a look at the Danzig movie above and it should prove something of an actual Jeet Kune Do event in real life.
And he is a fucking teacher of Jeet KUne Do.!

If any of you wanty to see what it would be like if Bruce Lee got into the Octagon Why dont you just revisit any of the many common Kung Fu combatants that have been on the show since day 1 and see how well they do ...
You will then have your answer.

i was talking to a friend yesterday and he just sent me this to post on his behalf
"JKD is not very well suited to "survive" in UFC. it is mainly for self defense- for real no holds barred fights. UFC is not really no holds barred coz there are still rules- no eye gouching and biting. well, JKD actually teaches eye jabs and i even heared that bruce lee once bit an opponent in a fight.

in a street fight, imagine a grappler attempting to attack, a JKD practitioner would just poke his eye and the fight's over but on that note a JKD practitioners are generally known for their speed so altho i personally think bruce lee wqould not necessary win the UFC i would be suprised if he didnt advance very very far.
and regardless it doesnt change the fact that bruce lee was a great martial artist but he was also a pioneer.

also to everyone who says he was just an actor and not a real fighter i have some information for you

Defeated British boxer Gary Elms by knockout in the 3rd round in the 1958 Hong Kong amateur boxing championships by using Wing Chun traps and high/low level straight punches. Before he met Elms in the finals, he knocked out three boxers in the first round. Hawkings Cheung, his fellow Wing Chun street fighter, witnessed the event.

Bruce Lee knocked out Wong Jack-Man in Oakland, California in a 1965 no-holds barred challenge match. It was Lee's last official fight. It lasted three minutes.

Lee knocked-out Chung, a Choy Li Fut fighter, in Hong Kong in a 1958 Full-Contact match. The match was refereed by Wong Shun-Leung.

Lee knocked-out Uechi in 10 seconds in a 1962 Full-Contact match in Seattle. It was refereed by Jesse Glover.

According to HK stuntman Phillip Ko Fei, Bruce was challenged by a tiger/crane kung fu stylist who was an extra who claimed Lee was a phony on the set of Enter the Dragon. Lee, who was furious of the claim, accepted the challenge to prove that his martial arts were indeed the real deal. The fight only lasted 30 seconds with Bruce pummeling the the kung fu man with a series of straight punches to the face, low line kicks to his shins/knees/thighs and finally ended with the guy being smashed to the wall with his hair pulled and his arms trapped by Bruce. After Lee forced the kung fu stylist to submit, he showed some class by telling him to go back to work instead of firing him. This fight was witnessed by Fred Weintraub & Bob Wall.

but of all the bruce lee facts i know this one is by far my fav

In the popular Nintendo game/anime series, Pokémon, the fighting type monster Hitmonlee is based on Lee

He was very much more than just an actor. Do your research, learn some facts and then call a spade a spade.

I agree with your post here Bruce was also a great fighter indeed but I donot think he was the best martial artist that ever lived.
Nor do I think he was anything special (He was common in his practices).
I would say yes he was a pioneer and did bring his fighting style as well as many other styles in which he studied over to the western world.
This is what got him killed.
Also what got jis son Brando killed Those in which have a grudge against him. Strage they both died within the same day format and such but Im sure you know about that.
I give him credit for being all that I have mentioned.
                                          Cool fact about the game
What I do not believe in is his legacy I think that if you want to learn a great form of martial art you should stick to an old form not be taught by some hack who thinks they are bruce just because they have an Enter the Dragon poster on the wall in the Dojo.

Yes he was much more than an actor but He excelled as being one alot better than a martial artist!
Sure he pioneered Jeet Kune Do but look where that stands as a martial art.
If Jeet Kune Do is so great then show me some Video clips of Actual fights in which it has overpowered without question not just some Jackie Chan Bullshit!

i liked it as well, but bruce lee has been emulated in many fighting games

We figure no matter how many times the big fags grabbed him and tried to wrestle him, he'd just super poke their pressure points and make em shit themselves live on TV

Or he'd just awesome-kick them in the balls
Without Question Kung Fu which was Bruce Lees Main Fighting Style until he evloved his own(personal techniques)is one of the most Deadliest martial art forms.
It is mainly focused around weapons but there are many hand to hand forms as well.
As far as Those big fags are concerned I think many of the fights you see on T.V. are totally rigged.
Not all but most I think. Its about money and given an actual street fight I think many of these guys would find themselves in the hospital.
