I usually try to act "too cool to buy the hype" but fuck it...Sam Raimi, an actual comicbook fan, not some hack music video director directing the movie based upon one of my favorite comics? plus Kirsten Dunst and some major nippleus erectus...I'm so fucking there (already pre-bought my tickets for the first matinee showing Friday morning )))))))
Who are your favorite Spiderman adversaries? I'm partial to the Kingpin and Electro, myself.

Spider man does not really shoot it from his wrist, it is just that it hits his wrist and bounces off after the prop man gets done jerking the actor off!

I thought the orginal actor they scripted which was Tom Hanks would have been better.
Someday in 50 years from now, someone will play me.
I only hope they learn from the casting mistakes of Superman and Spiderman when casting for Boneprone when the time comes.

Tom Hanks is gay. This guy is perfect for the part.
Originally posted by Steve C'Mon, Tom Hanks is cool, but he's like 30 years older than the Peter Parker character.
I am not a Toby McGuire fan, but I'll go see it and give the guy a chance. Looks fucking cool from the trailers I've seen.
And no matter what, it can't suck more than Episode I did!
anyone else remember that old (made for tv?) movie, "Rona Jaffe'sMazes and Monsters" with Tom Hanks...where he played the Dungeons and Dragons nerd who got way to involved in the game...damn god flick....THERE'S a movie screaming for a remake....
Tom Hanks does not fit the part of this movie any more than Chris Farley would have. Sure, okay.... he's done some good stuff.... that doesn't mean he can play a teenage guy anymore..... cuz he's not. He's too fucking old for the part. Casting Tom Hanks for this would have been a huge mistake.
And the Batman movies were way fucking lame. Except maybe the first one. Very dark... the way they should've been.... not that fucking comedy routine they turned into.....
the Superman movies don't even warrant comment. They sucked, pure and simple.
What pisses me off even more is that the second choice to play the role was Patrick Swazie. If he hadnt had died a few years back, this would have jumpstarted his career.
This Toby guy was a last minute fill in.
I think he was bangin the producer's daughter.
nevertheless, without Hanks, or Swazie bringning in the box office draw, this movie will rank well below the Superman and Batman movies. That is a SURE BET.
in addition to the ongoing discussion here of the gayness level of Tom Hanks, I'd just like to say, that graphic work (that I glued up there in the first post) is hands down, one of the best pieces of artwork I've ever seen..... don't know who the artist was that did it, but the quality of it..... the colors, the perspective, the detail.... all of it. It's bringin' tears to my eyes.

Kingpin kicks ass. I also liked Doc Octopus, Sandman, Rhino, and I always loved it when Spidey fought other superheroes. The fights with the Hulk were awesome. But the ultimate villain is Carnage. Venom is a close second but nobody can fuck with Carnage for pure evil.
Sam Raimi and Sony have already inked a deal to do a sequal to Spiderman. They said the initial screenings have been recieved "much better than expected". I have read some opinions from people who have seen the screenings and everyone raved about the movie. One guy even said it had a definate "Darkman" feel to it

Kingpin is going to be in the new Daredevil movie coming out January 17, 2003. Kingpin is going to be played by Michael Clarke Duncan. Other villains in the movie are going to be: Elektra(Jennifer Garner) and Bullseye (Colin Farrell). Daredevil is going to be played by...drum roll please...Ben Affleck.

Hell yeah he does! Plus, Bullseye was my favorite DD villain so that is going to rock. And my dad told me that there was no future in comics...why the fuck did I listen to him
Some other comic-book related movies in pre-production or currently shooting:
*League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - With Sean Connery playing an opium-addicted Alan Quartermain (ala Alan Quartermain and King Solomon's Mines). I talked to Mr. Connery last fall and was told about this before it was announced to the public. This is his first movie since Finding Forrester and if they stay true to the comic (which is only a couple years old) it should rock!
*Hulk - Directed by Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). Might be cool but from some of the things I have heard Mr. Lee is fucking around with the story. When someone makes a comic book story shouldn't they leave the original origin story alone? The story being good is usually why people get interested in the project anyway. Those Hollywood bastards just can't leave well enough alone.
*Hellboy - I am really excited about this because I know the guy who created, writes, and draws Hellboy (and I have the original art of his origin from the first book on my wall ) . This could really rock if it is done right. If you have no clue who Hellboy is visit http://www.hellboy.com
