I dont know, I like to do it by hand using Final Cut Pro or Pinnacle HD to get clear ones. Here are a few examples. Bump for you!

I use Vegas to do it, very simple and can adjust how often you would like the capture taken (even as fast as .01 second)

I bought and use AVD Video Processor a few years ago and still use it to this day. It does exactly what you asked... I can set frame grabs at variable times and in different formats.

I don't remember how much it was, but I'm thinking in the $30 range.

hey Spaz... Which version of Vegas are you using?
I used to do exports in Vegas 7 and 8... but now... in Vegas 9 it seems different?

Its render-as .... not a script like it was before?

Which version of VEGAS are you using?

They look awesome! But its just not time-efficient...

I want to be able to take a 30 min video...render out 300 pics from it, then go thru that folder click-click-delete-click-click-delete-delete

And come out with 50 good pics and do it all in 4-5 mins MAX

              ffmpeg can do this

              ffmpeg -i video.mpg image%d.jpg

you just have to set the start point how many seconds in

I use frameshots almost on a daily basis.
                http://www.frame-shots.com/
Its 30$ and it can do batches of videos, watermarks, and has resampling filters. I highly recommend it.

It can loop through. You can pick how many screen caps you need and set it at certain intervals to take the pics.

Not sure what your budget is but if you want something automated our cms (www.elevatedx.com) has a transcoder that will encode videos and cut clips. It will also let you do what you described - take a video and automatically take a series of 300 or however many screencaps you want and make them into a gallery. Also watermarks pics ad videos, resizes, sharpens the pics, etc.

It works great and will do huge batch jobs but might be overkill for what you need to get done. If you want to check out the demo shoot me an email and I'll send you a login.
