There was some questionable support from them for sure. They seemed quite hostile. However I also took a look at some of what that guy had on his domain using the Google cache and can understand their apprehension. There may or may not have been anything illegal (He claims full 2257 compliance) but many of us reading probably wouldn't touch that stuff with a ten foot pole. Before registering any domains through NameCheap be aware the vast majority, last I checked, are being registered through their eNom reseller account...
And that should be of concern, because eNom is, reportedly, getting far more aggressive suspending domains - see the thread below for details (I've linked to page 2 of it, since that's where the details are regarding eNom's actions, and the threat of other registrars doing likewise)
