    Cellphone Porn Mania in Europe?

    Since I left Anabolic/Diabolic, I've recently been asked to shoot 10 minute clips exclusively for cellphones in Europe by some investors.

    Maybe some of you in Europe know about this but it stymies the hell out of me. I'm used to shooting videos but can't fathom the cellphone idea, kind of like I don't really get the Ipod videos idea.

    I mean, if you're in Scotland, why would you watch porn on your cellphone while you're sitting on a bus. Or why would you watch it at home when you have a flatscreen in front of you? Or why would you want to jackoff in your office cubicle?

    Do some of you in Europe know about this?

      The idea is obvious, you get the best quality/deal you can get at the time. A few years ago it was VHS, then out came DVD, now we will soon all be buying HD DVD or Blue Ray.

      If you have only a phone then a phone it is. Not going for this valuable market is costing many.

      I'm not missing out on it. Adult mobile phone porn.

      Nor am I missing out on the iPod revolution. Adult iPod porn videos.

      Anyone going to the Amsterdam show this month will see the difference between the Internet porn and mobile phones content. One is very big and business like the other is not.

          Basically EU telecoms were always a revenue source for the adult industry. It's just a different culture thing and telecoms in Europe helped by being far more advanced and widespread than elsewhere.

          Can't specifically say on vid clips - Paul is a better judge for the current situation on that - only familiar with the audiotext (phone sex) side, where many millions were earned. It's prob only a matter of time.. if not now - it will happen at some point.

              The cellphone "tuning" market (logos and ringtones) has become a multi-million market in its own right.

              Thinks of "Porn to go" on cell phones as just another distribution channel to turn the digital bytes sitting on your servers into bucks.

                          I think we should be focusing on how to process it, instead of the "screen sizes" no offense, but when it concerns porn people are going to view it how ever they can, whenever they can. How to monetize that is the key.

                          I spoke to quite a few program owners in phoenix about this issue, as I'm launching a new project that goes hand in hand with this same problem. From what we have noticed if you are not providing SMS billing to your international traffic you really are doing yourself a disservice.
