    April Fools! (it's still April 1 here)

    On the upside though, I *am* trying to convince her into attending one of the shows this year. Usually I get a cat paw across my face at dinner for any mention of such an idea but she didn't smack me this time!

              It doesn't have anything to do with "mystery", some folks are just more private than others. Myself, I've only been to 3 or 4 shows and I've been in the biz since 97.

              She's an incredible conversationalist, forgotten more than I'll ever know about this business, caring, friendly and easy on the eyes.

              I actually was going to try and talk her into doing a Vegas show this year but Internext is in Hollywood this year and what the hell is there to do in Hollywood besides hang out with Lawrence Conner and stalk a few celebs??

                              You've had your chances to though! The only shows I've considered going to were the Vegas shows and if that stays in Hollywood, that's really going to limit my choices.

                              I prefer functions where you can actually talk to the people you've traveled to meet - not stand in a room that's wall to wall elbows with no place to sit, music so loud you have to scream and a couple girls dancing around nekkid for entertainment with adult webmasters who act like they've never seen one before. I like a naked girl as much as the next guy, but that's not my kind of venue.

                                                  From what you are saying, you would enjoy The Phoenix Show. No bad complaints have been posted about that show.

                                                  Why do you feel it necessary to defend PK's invisibility? She doesn't want to be seen. I've been there, done that. She gets away with it because people want to use her site for business. Porn sucks, and most people in it are not the most desirable people in the world. She is better off hiding behind her keyboard.

                                                          I don't defend her decision not to attend any of the conventions because there's nothing TO defend.

                                                          Attending is either a "need to attend" or "want to attend" event.

                                                          PK certainly doesn't "need" to attend - with her longevity in the business, advertisers and contacts come to her so it certainly falls into the "want to attend" category and I understand her not attending.

                                                          I wouldn't care if you and 10 of your finest looking friends had honey dripping off your boobs and the moon was shimmering off your oil covered butt cheeks... if you told me to come with you to an all day spa followed by a night of bar hopping - I'd tell ya' that I'm was going to stay at the house, order a pizza and see if there are any pay-per-view boxing on the tube cause all day spa's followed by bar hopping just ain't my thing.

                                                          I wouldn't need to "defend" that decision any more than I would need to defend why I don't enjoy eating liver and onions!

                                                          I'm at the point in my career that I don't "need" to attend any of the shows and, if I remember correctly, I think the last one I attended was 2 or 3 years ago but I'd like to get 1 or 2 more shows under my belt just because I "want" to meet a few folks I've yet to have a drink or break bread with.

                                                          I've known Colin and Khan (from Ynot) since 97 but never met them. I've never met Sleazy MissEve or Peaches but would like to.

                                                          Not because I'll ever do any business with them - chance are I never will, but they certainly fall into my "want to" category.

                                                          Now I think I'm gonna' have to add MicroChick to that list so if I see you at one of the shows, I'll buy you a drink and we can chat..... you dipping your boobs in honey is optional

                                                              The last and only show, I have been to was in Orlando, 1997.
                                                              The ONLY reason, I went was back then, I was nominated for "Best Overall Site of 1997" when I had LiveXXXCam. Then, the ONLY reason, I went was because Bannermaster Matt told me, I'd look like a Smuck, if I did win.
                                                              But, I knew, I had no chance. I was going up again Ron Levi and Cyberotica and few others.
                                                              Hell, I was the 'little guy" then.
                                                              But, I got to sit at the AVN awards show with RB and Mike Gatefold, Terri Wells. God, Mike Gatefold is a nut...lol
                                                              But that was good times that night.
                                                              Other than that..it was what you discribed.

                                                              Only person, I'd like to meet nowdays is Peekers.
                                                              Back then, she helped me alot and I talked to her daily on YNOT's java chat room.

For years I went to shows just to meet people I dealt with on the interweb. Now that I'm back to being able to do that again at shows, I find there's not so much a reason to go, since I've met just about everyone (except Bama, of course ;) )!! But I do miss people which is why I visit around seeing them outside the shows

                                                                                                                                                              Those were fun days with Serge in the beginning. He loved it when I stirred up shit. He was my mentor. That isn't something I think is a good thing, but he taught me not to take boards seriously, and I thank him for that.
