an epass type processing method is now ingrained within the webmaster psyche so will have to be a bonafide replacement at some point.

I hope so. This last period all affiliates that were due epass opted for checks. ICQed with a few webmasters about payoneer but no one I spoke with has an account there yet and are unsure if that will be the way to go. I guess it really depends on webmaster / industry adoption.
I'm willing to do paypal short term, even cover the fees on our end. I just don't like to use it on a reg basis because of the freezes and investigations that can come with it, why put affiliate earnings at risk, you know.
I guess if we can take away anything from this situation in the future I can't see many individuals storing any large sums for any extended period of time in any of these types of accounts. I don't know how much of the business model relies on the interest derived from deposited funds, if something comparable does open up in the future it may involve higher fees
