The people that Osama has protecting him (ie: his personal guards) have orders to kill him instead of letting him be cought alive, so I think its really unlikely he would be cought alive.

I don't think the US can afford to tell us whether he is alive or dead, free or captive.

Could you imagine the backlash that would be unleashed if his status was actually confirmed?

Well, I got my information from watching a 60 Minutes report on TV. I don't think they spread rumors.

Thats a good point, but it would be hard to keep it a secret.

Bin Laden will probably kill himself before getting caught. He's a suicidal maniac, and the Al Queda are all suicidal. If the U.S. did cuaght him alive, they'd want some info before executing em'.

I agree. He probably won't even need a "malfunction", he (or she) would do it and take the consequences gladly. They would be seen as a hero by many.
