The thing is IF epassporte solves this situation and everybody gets full control again 99% of the people will probably withdraw anything they got in their account at the speed of light.
= kill epass.
If they'll resolve this situation quickly ePass would still be the best option for many webmasters.

Michael, please answer this question. I'm sure it's very important for everybody. Where are our money and why we can't move them between visa virtual and a wallet?
The thing is IF epassporte solves this situation and everybody gets full control again 99% of the people will probably withdraw anything they got in their account at the speed of light.
What about the people that only have Epass as the only payment option?
No checks, no wire......no other acc????
I think a wire transfer was mentioned as the only way to get the money and epassporte should pay the "wire fees" for the inconvenience to its customers.
I hope you guys get your money, but this type of situation brings back some terrible memories for me
This is indeed horrible news, especially for us who keep lots of money there But I am optimistic on this one, considering good record epass has been having for over 7 years. I've been a user for 6 years and I can say that I never had major problems with them...
Anyway, here's what I found on another forum that might be totally related to why VISA hopefully temporarily suspended Epass' Visa program. It has to do with new US gov regulations regarding prepaid cards... read on:
The reason for this move from Visa is most likely because of the new rules enforced by Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
New rules has come in place regarding debit pre paid cards, gift cards and reloadable top up cards. The rules, which were mandated by the Credit CARD Act of 2009, require more data collection and reporting from businesses, and some experts say they could make prepaid card buying a challenge for some consumers.
Starting June 28, the public will have 30 days to comment on the rules, which require nonbank prepaid card providers to:
Quote:
File suspicious activity reports (SARs) with the government on suspicious activity of more than $2,000. Suspicious Activities Reports are Treasury Department forms already required of banks, casinos, poker rooms, securities and futures firms and others in the money services business. More than 5.6 million have been filed since they were first mandated in 1996 (see chart). The proposed rule would add nonbank card providers to the ranks of those required to file forms with the government when their suspicions are aroused.
Collect customer information anytime a card is reloaded at someplace other than a bank.
Maintain transaction information.
The rule focuses on the following:
Quote:
Don't have the value clearly labeled on them.
Are reloadable at places other than banks.
Can have a maximum lifetime value of more than $1,000, including reloads.
Can be used anywhere -- especially if they can be used internationally.
Can have the value transferred to another card.
Are purchased in large amounts or seem otherwise suspicious.
Basically this is another terrorists anti-money laundry mumbo jumbo, but for now Epassporte is going to stay closed unless they will be able to comply with the new regulatations that came into force just a bit more than 30 days ago.

michael thanks for the awesome job you are doing as always!!
if this thread shows anything then it's how fucking dumb adult webmasters are. most of you obviously cannot comprehend a simple english phrase. and even the dumbest fucks from ex hahahahahahaha show up here to give their worthless opinion, hooray.
stop bugging michael with BS that he has already replied to several times. and stop bugging him with questions that he obviously cannot reply (hint: if he doesn't reply to a question that was repeated in super bold letters then he can't because he doesn't know himself or for whatever other reason).
thanks for that...I am smart enough to have it in my wallet though "oh no he didnt" anyone who collects and pays out as much as I do would...I make 50k transactions on epass every other day. when you make huge deals its pretty easy to end up with that much in an account. How much do you think the big sponsors load their accounts with before payouts?
Sponsors load their accounts up because there is a lot of affiliate demand for it...
If you're doing $50k transactions, a real bank account and wire transfers makes a lot more sense to me. I never used epass for anything over $1k, it just doesn't make sense.
If you get 50 messages in the first 10 minutes of going online and doing 6-9 conversations at a time and after an hour had 70 waiting messages where if someone messaged you they would have to wait 45 minutes for a reply because you had to work through messages in the order they came then you would try to limit IMs as I did to make sure everyone can get an answer.
No, I would not. I would understand removing my banner sends a specific message to people. I would set an auto reply that the current wait time is approx 1 hour and then get to work. I would figure out pretty quickly that most of the questions would be the same and I would type up answers to the most frequently asked questions and use macro's or copy/paste to assist in answering people more quickly.
Saying you are getting too many messages so you are removing that option as a means of communication when some people's entire lives are royally FUCKED is WRONG! These are real people Michael. These are people trying to figure out how to eat, how to pay the rent etc. The "I'm too busy" just doesn't cut it.
Now before everyone goes off on me about Michael being a great guy and he doesn't deserve this blah blah. It is Michael's job to take the heat for things that go wrong. That is why he is here, that is what he is being paid for. Michael having every confidence things will be resolved and be "all better" means nothing (sorry Michael). It just means what HE believes and he probably has no more idea than we do what is going on, so his opinion is just that, his opinion. His confidence is no guarantee. If he is wrong, it isn't like he is going to pay you. Michael IS a good guy. He is however not giving ANY information. He is just nicely saying "I know nothing, but when I know something I will let you know. You can't have your money, I don't know if you ever will get it, but I am confident in the people that I work for". That is basically what any employee would say about their employer in a public statement.
Remember Chio? Remember how he told everyone he had never screwed anyone, his word was his oath. Everyone would get paid. Chio was always a great guy to me. I never got paid. I lost a lot of money with him. Being a great guy does NOT mean anyone is going to be paid.
yes but it would be a big warning for people to NOT keep large amounts in it anymore.
You can only hope that it's a "big warning". Given the history of financial mishaps in this business, I never understood why I would use a service like ePassporte.
The Only Time When Success Comes Before Work Is In A Dictionary.
Did you ever notice: When you put the 2 words 'The' and 'IRS' together it spells 'Theirs.'
Does that work for any countries Credit Card? Do you know?
Not sure. In my case it's a Canadian MBNA Mastercard. Go into your account and under "withdraw money" you will see an option to add a "personal credit or debit card". You have to fill out some identification paperwork and send the usual copy of your ID and scan of your card. Takes a couple days and I'm sure it'll take a couple days longer now given the circumstances, but it's a good alternate option to the Visa card.
There's also the option to withdraw funds to a US Checking account there.
Note that this won't help you for any funds locked up on your pay as you go Visa right now, but it's a good option for transferring future earnings.
In the meantime there's little point freaking out and making wild assumptions based on over active imaginations. Stick to the facts as we know them, which are Visa has put a hold on the funds on the pay as you go cards. This doesn't mean the money is lost or that epassporte is closing down. Relax.
WHERE IS THE "EPASSPORTE VIRTUAL" MONEY CURRENTLY LOCATED?
IS IT IN THE St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank?
Isn't this pretty obvious? Visa cut the ties to the bank, the cards got suspended, you can't move the visa virtual money anymore. Ofc they are in that bank.
I want the phone number of the VISA EXECUTIVE in charge of this. I want to know where he lives. I want to know what he looks like.
If we all protested outside his children's school, then maybe we would be taken seriously and get our money back.
THIS IS A VISA PROBLEM. NOT AN EPASSPORTE PROBLEM. VISA GAVE THEM A LICENSE TO USE THEIR PRODUCT. I AM AN EPASSPORTE CLIENT BECAUSE IT HAD THE VISA SEAL OF APPROVAL.
...when some people's entire lives are royally FUCKED is WRONG! These are real people Michael. These are people trying to figure out how to eat, how to pay the rent etc.
Seriously? Your entire financial well being is tied up in a single pay as you go credit card? You load every cent from your epassporte account, your entire earnings, onto that Visa card and just leave it there?
Given that a good number of people here are bemoaning the previous track record of other payment service providers and claiming epassorte is "done", "going bankrupt", and that "you'll never see your money again" why would you put yourself in such a risky situation if you think that way? Why put all your eggs in one virtual money basket?
LoL, what if you just LOST the card? What if someone cloned it and emptied your account? What if...?
You need to look after yourselves better.
In the meantime for money not tied up in this pay as you go credit card there are other options for accessing your funds.
Isn't this pretty obvious? Visa cut the ties to the bank, the cards got suspended, you can't move the visa virtual money anymore. Ofc they are in that bank.
then no hope is lost yet?
if the physical money is intact, thee is a chance of withdrawing it one way or another (MasterCard or Wires) .
it'd not like the money is being held hostage (arrested) or under investigation.
You would think ePassporte would at least cut the price on wire fee's in a show of good faith. Fucking hell, $50 for a wire. Even the most asshole of banks do not charge that high!
LOL I agree that fee is retarded, but so is this suggestion.
There's a lot I don't understand about this current situation. And I'm not happy that it happened on the day that my biggest sponsor payment of the month hit a few days earlier than usual while my girl was taking me to the movies for my birthday. (We saw 'The American", it was pretty good.)
But, back to that retarded suggestion.
In a situation like this, every withdrawal is a razor slash for ePassporte. They hold the razor and their business credibility demands that they make the cuts upon demand, but the big question is whether there will be enough blood in the body to survive the experience. And you want them to make it cheaper to cut?
the only chance epass would have of surviving if they do somehow resolve this, is reducing the withdrawl limit to like $200-300 per day for everyone so they cant pull ALL the money at once.

Thats exactly what I meant as we would kill epass IF this all gets solved.
