i booked a club package for $300 for new years, which was just guranteed getting into the place for a few people. so the night before new years i stopped at the casino and checked it out and all it was was a circle bar in the middle of the hotel. i called for a refund and they denied me. on their site they had it listed as an "upscale venue" and described it like it was a nice club. i tried to charge it back but amex just sent me a mail saying the chargeback was denied. is there a way to get it back or am i screwed? from us porn people getting screwed over on chargebacks i didnt think they could do anything if there wasnt a signature, and i never signed anything.
Trouble with chargebacks - any way around it?

I've heard the opposite about Amex, they always take the merchants side.
Usually if you have signed something, its very difficult to charge back. Without a signature you can charge EVERYTHING back. just say you dont recognize the transaction.
too bad for us porn ppl, nobody signs the CC receipt

It's difficult to do a chargeback with a written receipt, but I did it twice with Amex without any problems. I told them that it was a fraudulent transaction since I didn't get what I paid for and asked if I'd have to do it via a lawyer.
"Fraud", "Lawyer", "Lawsuit", "Sue", "Scam" are the keywords that mean more work for them, more costs for them...worked for me.Comment

Also tell them where they can stick their card. I will not buy anything on the Net unless I can charge it back.Comment
