LAWDS MERCY!

So I bought a couple copies of Smart Thumbs to play with. Pretty cool and all until you try to add sponsors or anything via the "Sponsors" tab. Each page takes 10 minutes to load cuz it's pulling ads and crap from a remote server that's running slower than 90 year old bawlz.

I hate shit that pulls from a remote server. And I hate when the remote server that the shit is being pulled from runs like crap.

Why ruin a good script with this type of muck-a-muck?

I haven't looked at my copy of Smart Thumbs since I discovered the area you're talking about, I just got up and moved onto a new project instead of agonizing over the load times.

Lol, the server is a dual XEON and it is pretty damn fast, it's probably your route to our server as usualy importing galleries is very fast.

You are incorrect stating that it pulls ads, coz it doesnt pull any add, it only pulls gallery urls and descriptions.

Remember that the sponsor part is a free service we offer, you dont have to use it, you can bulk import galleries yourself.

its prolly your routes that have slowdown/hickups
ask your tech guys to make a static route/tunnel (workaround)

or turn the feature off and import your own
(we do it both (no boyalley not both ways :D ) importing and using the sponsor db)

I love my smart thumbs and have never had one issue with it.

works fine for me and I give it a full thumbs up

commus on the other hand regularly crashes my (other) server and mucks up the mysql database constantly, the minute I get round to it I'm replacing it with another copy of ST
