About a week after I got my first wireless router I was pissed because the print server wasn't working. It was driving me nuts. Took me about 3 days to realize that I had unknowingly been surfing on my neighbors unprotected network... UGH.

hah ill tell you a funny story

i was hooking up a laptop and noticed a wireless connection named "flipper" become accessible, ( keep in mind i live miles from the nearest power pole or house ). I also live on the water. after a few minutes it disappeared , and i figured itmust be something internal or a default name or something buggy as theres no possible way in the world unless someone was sitting out in the woods with a laptop there could be anyone within range, but sure enough later that day back comes flipper. For awhile it was an inside joke that flipper the dolphin ha a laptop and was using my wireless account to do nefarious dolphin deeds..

As it turns out later i find out it was a trnsport ferry operated by a railway company that would go by my house ( i live waterfront ) i was kinda sad to find out the truth when i found out..

That way, even when idiots connect to it, they see it says denied and try to connect to something else.

I've even had friends over and go "It says I'm denied, what do I do?"
