    I want a Mac ... BUT ... FACT.... :

    I really want to kit us out with Mac's sometime down the line. I like the simplicity, I enjoy the OS (more than I enjoy Vista....or XP... by far) .... and I simply want them as our main systems.

    BUT...

    Mac owners are the ones who stir shit with the whole PC vs Mac thing. You usually find this. It fucks me off.

    Sorry... simple, and short rant. But it's true.

If they had been smart the would have licenced their OS out to other computer companies in the 1980's like MS did. If they did they'd be bigger now and MS wouldn't be.                                                       I use linux but the problem is with specific software availability and portability. I'd love to have a MAC. I think my next laptop will be one.

                                                                  Also the newer macs have the whole damn computer in the monitor so if your monitor gets shot you have to send in your whole Mac for repair. That goes for the webcam too since that is built into the monitor.

                                                                  Also many sites on the net and many applications say "Not compatable with Mac" So good luck with that.

                                                                                          buy a mac pro, or better yet, wait until the 15th of april after the big show... there will most likely be new mac pro's untroduced and if so you can score the previous models much cheaper after the announcement... if you need serious horsepower the mac pro isn't any more expensive than dual xeon options from deall i believe.

                                                                                          the AIO (all in one) macs don't do much for me honestly, but the mac pro was a great buy..

This thread is not about Mac being better or worse than PC's ... it's a thread about how I want a Mac, but know that most arguments about who's system is better, are started by Mac owners

I'm sitting here at a table in my shop right now with my Macbook and HP laptops open and working. My desktop setup at home is the same. One of both sitting under the desk.

                                                                                                                                                                          I was following your predicament, but this logic doesn't float - your are comparing a brand machine with a BYO. That is not fair, since Apple is a hardware company, not a software company, so allowing OS X to run on any BYO PC would be corporate suicide. If you like OS X, you have to buy a Mac. If you like Apple Macs, then of course you buy a Mac. You can't compare prices on an Apple PC with a BYO PC. Just like you cna't compare a Dell PC with the cost of a BYO PC.
