I think Human DNA came from an Alien source. Earth is around 5 billion years old, the Universe is something like 15 billion years old, that means lots of stuff is 10 billion years older than we are. 10 billion years is a long time to plan a way to keep your dna going.
Then based on various parts of the quantum theories and dark matter being nothing, the properties of time/space/distance do not apply. Once you enter one side, you're instantly on the other, if it's nothing. Our entire galaxy is wrapped in a dark matter force, space is mostly made up of dark matter. If the theories are even half way correct, it would mean we aren't as far apart as we think, but more stack right next each other.
As well based on ancient drawings, art, carvings, writings, etc.. UFO's were around before man could create them and Alien figures that have no Deity tie to them can be found all over, as if they were accepted. as far as needing proof goes, why would aliens (if they have visited the earth) want to leave ANY kind of proof to their existence. they know that humans are not ready to mingle with beings from other galaxies, this would be obvious considering the fucked up state of affairs on earth.
i really doubt they would leave a spaceship and say "hey we really do exist! when you figure out how to fly this thing come on out to the pleiades cluster and we'll have a barbecue!"

Of course there are other life forms in the universe, to think there are billions of other galaxies and we are the only life is ludicrous. If they have figured out how to harness the energy from blackholes or other ways to jump about the universe and they did check us out they would see just how nuts we are and get the fuck away as fast as they could. i think about in terms of evolution and time
do we care about what the animals did in their lives that were our ancestors 200,000 years ago? Do the animals we watch in the wild today have a way of recording and telling future generations that we were watching them? no
