I stopped promoting you all because of your support for Zango. As someone stated earlier in this post does this mean

A. AFF will no longer use or promote zango in any fashion
B. AFF will no longer accept affiliates who buy zango traffic

If both A & B are true I'm ready and willing to promote your Passion.com on my entertainment website. Actually, I would want to do a co-brand just like Passion.com.

So not only will they refuse to address taking traffic from torrent/password sites....but the only reason they're dropping zango is because its not as profitable as it used to be?

I hate to break it to you people, but AFF dropping Zango was a business decision just like Clickcash dropping Zango four months ago after using them for years was a business decision.

Sponsors try to accomodate Affiliates requests if possible but not if it adversely affects their bottom line of course. Apparently those affiliates that dropped AFF because of Zango didn't make much of an impact as if they did so you can be sure AFF would have dropped Zango when all this became widely known four months ago so I don't think Will or others on GFY can take credit for AFF droping Zango just like Will couldn't take credit for Clickcash dropping Zango either.

So now that AFF doesn't use Zango how does this change things for us as regards our income as Affiliates?

If you think this will begin a ground swell of Adult companies dropping Zango and then all the mainstream companies drop them and they go under, stop kidding yourself. Only laws will change the situation.

All that will happen now is that SexSearch or one of a gajillion other Adult/Mainstream dating sites will now pop over your sites instead of AFF.

Lets see how quickly the Zango and AFF thing fades away now that it is apparently history. I suspect it will take a bit longer than the Clickcash and Zango thing which was a distant memory a day after they dropped Zango.

Let's see how many new Zango threads there are now or how many new threads there are about whoever takes AFF's place on Zango or other Sponsors who still use Zango.

Or like I said earlier will the focus now shift to the next thing that people don't like about AFF (like all other Sponsors are perfect and beyond reproach) and on and on. If that does happen I guess that will prove that it was more about AFF bashing than getting rid of Zango

Lars doesn't just make a statement, he tries to imply or insinuate things with the message he is making . Take his comment :

The only people that would promote zango installs are either complete morons who do not promote any other affiliate programs, or people who already do installs. If Lars really believes that " so many affiliates have signed on to promote Zango" from the promotions here maybe he could name a few. Can any of you just name a few, and I am not talking about idiots like Frank or Dork Jedi who just trying to get attention. Prove me wrong, point out all these people, because obviously for you to make a statement like that you must have some evidence, surely you wouldnt be lying or guessing. Even if a few did, there was a good bit of people who were doing zango installs that had no idea how they worked and have stopped because of the " promotions " here. I can guarantee you more good than harm was done from the Zango installing side, don't let Lars try to spin this and try to make others look bad so he can try to make himself look better. Don't forget this is the guy who said " sex search made him do it, and it's only a pop up".

The second part is correct. Apparently a lot of people didn't know they could by traffic from Zango and because of the " promotions " here ran up the ad prices. That was a side effect of educating people. Either you say nothing, and uneducated webmasters do zango installs, or you educate people and help reduce the number of installs. If you say nothing, than the installs only get worse. The installs are the things that really hurt us. If some shady fuckers heard the message and went and bought zango traffic, what can you do.... 1. Now they are exposing themselves and everyone can block them and treat them the same way AFF was treated. 2. They are running up the cost of the traffic, fine, I am glad AFF and others had to pay more for the traffic they are STEALING from me. It's my traffic, it at least makes me feel a little better you are profiting less and less off of MY traffic. Unfortunetly Zango makes more, but maybe the FTC fines will be bigger next time, and soon or later they will be sued, so hopefully they will lose that money one way or another. There is no win win situation here. If you speak up, some shady people will buy traffic, if you don't speak up no one knows about the problem and more people do installs...... Don;t let sheep hearders try to tell you that we caused the problem.... if you have two braincells and comprehend what i posted here, you will be able to see through the bull shit.

I am not an affiliate of AFF, so I don't give a fuck if AFF stopped using zango 3 months ago on their own urls that have aff ids. What about the rest of us? What about all the clickcash affiliates, fling, dating gold, iwantu, etc... affiliates. You still targeted those sites and hijaked sales from those affiliates. Your reply to this in the past has been " I am trying to protect our affiliates". Which is bullshit. 1. AFF has been very agressive lately about trying to buy up ad space from alot sites that dropped them. That G-funk twat has been ICQ spamming ALOT of TGP webmasters lately as well.

Obviously they are very keen on gaining traffic back from sources that dropped them, and they know what the problem was... and now they've gone out of their way to make a post about what can only be described as a private, internal vendor decision, on a board frequented by those most vocal about their opposition.

Just what purpose do you think this thread was to serve? AFF may never directly admit that affiliates are capable of putting such a degree of pressure on them that would make them reconsider this decision - that might encourage affiliates to be more proactive - but that certainly seems to be what has happened.
